Franco-Comorian Hilal Mouniri has been appointed the United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation’s (UN-PAF) ambassador to Spain. The foundation describes itself as linked to the United Nations system and listed with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The appointment was formalised in a letter dated September 4, 2026, officially naming Hilal Mouniri as UN-PAF’s “Ambassador – Spain.”
In his new role, his responsibilities will include promoting peace, dialogue, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, as well as developing relations between UN-PAF, institutions, civil society and various partners in Spain.
His mission also has an international dimension: encouraging dialogue between Spain, Africa and the international community, while supporting initiatives related to young people, humanitarian action, education and sustainable development.
A French and Comorian national, Hilal Mouniri wants the appointment to build on his commitments to the Comoros and Africa and to closer ties between European and African stakeholders.
“This appointment represents a responsibility for me and a new opportunity to build bridges between Spain, the Comoros, Africa and our international partners. I want to place this mission at the service of peace, young people, cooperation and development.”
The appointment strengthens the Franco-Comorian’s international presence and gives him a new representative role in Spain within the United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation.
