Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverte dans la circulation depuis 2010 dans les bidonvilles sud-africains, o\u00f9 elle gagne \u00e9norm\u00e9ment du terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Si son ingr\u00e9dient principal est l\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne ou la morphine, il s\u2019agit d\u2019un cocktail de drogues auxquels les pr\u00e9parateurs ajoutent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des d\u00e9tergents ou des m\u00e9dicaments\u00a0antir\u00e9troviraux utilis\u00e9s pour lutter contre le sida.\u00a0En juillet dernier, le photographe sud-africain\u00a0Mujahid Safodien a document\u00e9 pour l\u2019AFP le quotidien infernal des usagers de la\u00a0whoonga, dans les townships de la c\u00f4te sud du pays.\u00a0Dans le pays du monde le plus touch\u00e9 par le sida, les vols\u00a0de\u00a0m\u00e9dicaments antir\u00e9troviraux se multiplient pour confectionner la drogue, faisant planer une menace constante au-dessus des malades sous traitement vivant dans les quartiers les plus d\u00e9favoris\u00e9s d\u2019Afrique du Sud.<\/p>\n<p><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-473980\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1-700x467.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1-700x467.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1-400x267.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1-600x400.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1.jpg 900w\"  alt=\"Afrique du Sud : les autorit\u00e9s pr\u00e9occup\u00e9es par cette drogue \u00e0 base d\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne et de m\u00e9dicaments anti-VIH, devenue un fl\u00e9au!\"  width=\"761\" height=\"508\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En 2016, dans son rapport annuel, l\u2019Office des Nations unies contre la drogue et le crime \u00e9crivait noir sur blanc ce que les habitants des townships savent depuis longtemps. L\u2019Afrique du Sud est un des leaders mondiaux du d\u00e9veloppement de nouvelles substances psychoactives. L\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de whoonga, pourtant, semble \u00eatre circonscrite au pays. Ce sont les effets secondaires psychoactifs des m\u00e9dicaments anti-VIH que recherchent les toxicomanes.\u00a0L\u2019\u00e9favirenz, par exemple, provoquerait des hallucinations chez certains patients.<\/p>\n<p><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-473986\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-2-700x467.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-2-700x467.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-2-400x267.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-2-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-2-600x400.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.ulyces.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-2.jpg 900w\"  alt=\"Afrique du Sud : les autorit\u00e9s pr\u00e9occup\u00e9es par cette drogue \u00e0 base d\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne et de m\u00e9dicaments anti-VIH, devenue un fl\u00e9au!\"  width=\"731\" height=\"488\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Enfin, le 29 juin dernier, plusieurs journaux sud-africains (dont le\u00a0<em>South Coast Herald<\/em>) ont rapport\u00e9 que pour\u00a0\u00ab <em>pimenter<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb leur shoot de whoonga, certains usagers les assaisonnaient d\u00e9sormais\u00a0de cendres humaines, d\u00e9rob\u00e9es dans les cimeti\u00e8res.
