Le charismatique musicien Robert Kyagulanyi, dit Bobi Wine, connu comme le pr\u00e9sident du \u00ab\u00a0Ghetto\u00a0\u00bb vient de connaitre un essor politique jamais esp\u00e9r\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Le chanteur de reggae, \u00e2g\u00e9 de 35\u00a0ans, qui s’\u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 aux \u00e9lections locales, vient d’\u00eatre \u00e9lu d\u00e9put\u00e9. Une grande premi\u00e8re. Depuis de longues ann\u00e9es, \u00ab\u00a0Bobi Wine\u00a0\u00bb incarne pour beaucoup, les frustrations et les espoirs des jeunes, des pauvres et des laiss\u00e9s pour compte d’une nation dont les leaders, souvent \u00e2g\u00e9s, ne semblent pas s’en pr\u00e9occuper.<\/p>\n

Son \u00e9lection consacre une incroyable ascension, celle d’un jeune et imp\u00e9tueux chanteur de reggae, coiff\u00e9 de dreadlocks, tra\u00eenant sa silhouette \u00a0entre les maisons en t\u00f4le du bidonville, devenu un habile politicien au style vestimentaire, plus polic\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Candidat ind\u00e9pendant, Bobi Wine a battu les candidats du parti du Pr\u00e9sident Museveni (NRM) et du principal parti d’opposition (FDC), lors de cette \u00e9lection locale organis\u00e9e en raison d’irr\u00e9gularit\u00e9s pendant les \u00e9lections g\u00e9n\u00e9rales de 2016.<\/p>\n

Le Parcours d’un politicien atypique<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Le chanteur qui a grandi \u00e0 Kamwokya, l’un des plus grands bidonvilles de Kampala, commence sa carri\u00e8re musicale en tant que choriste, avant d’int\u00e9grer l’universit\u00e9, o\u00f9 il \u00e9tudie la musique et le th\u00e9\u00e2tre avant de se lancer dans une carri\u00e8re solo.<\/p>\n

Avec des titres et compositions \u00e9voquant l’injustice sociale, Il s’impose sur la sc\u00e8ne musicale ougandaise. Bob Wine est aussi reconnu comme un f\u00eatard. A kampala o\u00f9 il est surnomm\u00e9 Ugania (contraction de Uganda et Gania), il n’est pas difficile de le rep\u00e9rer. L’homme se d\u00e9pace r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement dans une Cadillac Escalade dont la plaque d’immatriculation est personnalis\u00e9e d’une feuille de cannabis.<\/p>\n

Alors que d’autres stars ougandaises ont accept\u00e9 d’\u00eatre pay\u00e9es pour chanter en\u00a02016\u00a0pendant la campagne \u00e9lectorale de Yoweri Museveni, Bobi Wine r\u00e9siste \u00e0 la tentation de l’argent et aux pressions. Au lieu de cela, il compose \u00ab\u00a0Dembe\u00a0\u00bb (libert\u00e9 en Luganda), chanson appelant \u00e0 la non-violence dans un pays o\u00f9 les \u00e9lections sont souvent synonymes de gaz lacrymog\u00e8ne, coups de feu et violences polici\u00e8res.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Dembe\u00a0\u00bb a d’ailleurs retenti vendredi matin sur le march\u00e9 de Kamwokya, bien que le quartier d’enfance de Bobi Wine ne soit pas situ\u00e9 dans le district que l’artiste repr\u00e9sente d\u00e9sormais, Kyadondo Est, \u00e0 une dizaine de km de l\u00e0.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Bobi a grandi ici, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 sur le terrain et il comprend notre situation<\/strong><\/em>\u00ab\u00a0, observe Hamidu Mubiru, un des vendeurs du march\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0J’ai l’impression de le conna\u00eetre et j’appr\u00e9cie ce qu’il a fait pour nous, il a chant\u00e9 au sujet de la dictature et de ses brutalit\u00e9s<\/strong><\/em>\u00ab\u00a0, ajoute cet homme de\u00a027\u00a0ans, d\u00e9crivant le r\u00e8gne de Museveni dans des termes que Bobi Wine ne se risquerait probablement pas \u00e0 utiliser publiquement.<\/p>\n
