Un nouveau rapport de l’ONUSIDA sur la pr\u00e9valence du VIH chez les femmes a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que le Ghana est parmi les pays ayant le taux de pr\u00e9valence le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 en Afrique de l’Ouest. Environ 160 000 femmes et filles au Ghana, vivent avec le virus, selon le rapport.<\/p>\n

Le rapport de 2017 intitul\u00e9 \u00abQuand les femmes m\u00e8nent, les changements se produisent – les femmes avancent, la fin du sida<\/em>\u00bb fournit des statistiques mondiales sur la pr\u00e9valence du VIH parmi les femmes \u00e0 travers le monde.
\nLe rapport souligne \u00e9galement les contributions, les d\u00e9fis et les succ\u00e8s de l’ONUSIDA dans la lutte contre le VIH \/ sida.<\/p>\n

Selon le rapport, 18,6 millions de femmes, et de filles vivent avec le VIH dans le monde. Selon le rapport, les femmes repr\u00e9sentent 51% des personnes vivant avec le VIH dans le monde, mais avec de grandes diff\u00e9rences r\u00e9gionales<\/p>\n

En Afrique de l’Ouest et centrale, pr\u00e8s de 60% de toutes les personnes vivant avec le VIH sont des femmes. Comme indiqu\u00e9 dans le rapport de l’ONUSIDA, pr\u00e8s d’un million de filles et de femmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nouvellement infect\u00e9es par le VIH en 2015.<\/p>\n

En Afrique subsaharienne, les femmes repr\u00e9sentent 56% des nouvelles infections par le VIH chez les adultes. Les jeunes femmes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 15 \u00e0 24 ans repr\u00e9sentent 25% des nouvelles infections par le VIH chez les adultes, et pr\u00e9sentent un risque particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9lev\u00e9 d’infection par le VIH, m\u00eame si elles repr\u00e9sentent seulement 11% de la population adulte.<\/p>\n

En parlant \u00e0 Wendy Laryea de la chaine de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision ghaneene TV3, \u00e0 midi, jeudi 8 juin, le repr\u00e9sentant sortant de l’ONUSIDA, Girmay Haile, a admis que la lutte contre la stigmatisation des personnes vivant avec le VIH \/ sida n’a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9e de succ\u00e8s, en grande partie \u00e0 cause des normes sociales et des cultures.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0S’il y a un domaine que nous n’avons pas r\u00e9ussi, c’est ce domaine de la stigmatisation et de la discrimination\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em> Il a expliqu\u00e9 que l’\u00e9ducation en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9sique et l’\u00e9ducation sur le VIH \/ sida ne sont pas suffisamment amicales pour soutenir la lutte contre le VIH \/ sida.
\nGirmay Haile a \u00e9galement expliqu\u00e9 que la criminalisation du travail s3xuel n’a pas non plus contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la question.
\n\u00ab\u00a0M\u00eame si nous avons fait des progr\u00e8s consid\u00e9rables, nous n’avons toujours pas pu arr\u00eater la situation parce qu’elles sont en conflit avec la loi et la tendance est qu’elles se cachent, nous ne pouvons donc pas les joindre pour offrir ces services \u00ab\u00a0.
\nLe taux de pr\u00e9valence chez les commer\u00e7antes de s3xe au Ghana est de 11,1%.
