Ely Ould Mohamed Vall, est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9. L’ex pr\u00e9sident mauritanien a rendu l’\u00e2me vendredi dernier. Son d\u00e9c\u00e8s fait suite \u00e0 une crise cardiaque.<\/p>\n

Ancien pr\u00e9sident de la Mauritanie, mais \u00e9galement cousin de l’actuel pr\u00e9sident Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz, Ely Ould Mohamed Vall est mort dans son pays, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, dans la ville de Zouerate.<\/p>\n

Selon les informations, le d\u00e9funt \u00e2g\u00e9 de 64 ans, a \u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0victime d’une crise cardiaque qui est survenue alors que l’ex pr\u00e9sident se trouvait en brousse, dans la province de Inchiri, dans le nord du pays. Ancien militaire , Ely Ould Mohamed Vall a dirig\u00e9 la Mauritanie entre 2005 et 2007.<\/p>\n

Depuis l’arriv\u00e9e au pouvoir de son cousin, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, l’actuel pr\u00e9sident, le colonel Ely Ould Mohamed Vall, a choisi le camp de l’opposition radicale, o\u00f9 il a milit\u00e9 en tant que personnalit\u00e9 ind\u00e9pendante.<\/p>\n

Militaire de carri\u00e8re, n\u00e9 en 1953, il avait acc\u00e9d\u00e9 au pouvoir en 2005, en renversant le pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019\u00e9poque, Maaouiya Ould Taya, avec l\u2019aide de Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz. Au cours de ses deux ann\u00e9es de mandat, il assure la transition, avant de c\u00e9der le pouvoir \u00e0 Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi. Ce dernier ne restera pas longtemps \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l\u2019\u00c9tat, puisque le 6 ao\u00fbt 2008, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz m\u00e8ne un nouveau putsch, et prend le pouvoir.<\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9funt pr\u00e9sident\u00a0 qui nourrissait l’ambition d’\u00eatre candidat \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidentielle de 2019, s’est vite rapproch\u00e9 du milliardaire Mohamed Ould Bouamatou. Il s’est affich\u00e9 \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s en mars, au Forum de Crans Montana, \u00e0 Dakhla. Ce qui a fait dire \u00e0 des observateurs de la sc\u00e8ne politique mauritanienne que,\u00a0 Vall \u00e9tait\u00a0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 en campagne pour la pr\u00e9sidentielle de 2019. Avec quelques handicaps (son CV sous Taya, et la concurrence d\u2019une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019opposants), Ely Ould Mohamed Vall poss\u00e8de un atout symbolique\u2009: celui d’\u00eatre\u00a0le seul officier <\/span>mauritanien \u00e0 avoir renonc\u00e9 de lui-m\u00eame, au pouvoir.<\/span><\/p>\n
