Doreen Moraa, \u00e2g\u00e9e de 24 ans, est s\u00e9ropositive depuis sa naissance. Dans une interview accord\u00e9e \u00e0 E Daily, la jeune dame a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 comment elle a appris son statut s\u00e9rologique alors qu’elle \u00e9tait encore \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole primaire.<\/p>\n

Troisi\u00e8me \u00a0d\u2019une famille de cinq enfants, elle \u00a0est n\u00e9e d’un couple discordant VIH – sa m\u00e8re est positive, tandis que le p\u00e8re est n\u00e9gatif.<\/p>\n

J’avais 12 ans et \u00e9tais encore \u00e9l\u00e8ve. Lors d’une de mes nombreuses consultations \u00e0 l’h\u00f4pital, j’ai entendu ma m\u00e8re parler avec mon m\u00e9decin. Tout le temps, je me rendais \u00e0 \u00a0l’h\u00f4pital, mais je ne savais pas exactement ce qui n’allait pas chez moi.<\/p>\n

J’ai entendu le m\u00e9decin demander \u00e0 ma m\u00e8re: \u00abQuand avez-vous d\u00e9couvert qu’elle \u00e9tait s\u00e9ropositive?\u00bb Je n’ai m\u00eame pas attendu \u00a0la r\u00e9ponse de ma m\u00e8re. J’\u00e9tais d\u00e9j\u00e0 confuse. J\u2019ai compris quand nous avions abord\u00e9 le sujet \u00a0de VIH en classe. Quand notre professeur s\u2019est mis \u00e0 expliquer, c\u2019est comme si je faisais face \u00e0 une condamnation \u00e0 mort.<\/p>\n

J’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 choqu\u00e9e d’entendre la question du m\u00e9decin \u00e0 ma m\u00e8re. Mais apr\u00e8s un certain temps, je me suis dit: peut-\u00eatre ai-je entendu la mauvaise chose. J’ai laiss\u00e9 passer \u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

L’ann\u00e9e suivante, ma m\u00e8re est tomb\u00e9e dans le coma. Elle \u00e9tait vraiment malade. En fait, nous n’avions plus d’espoir. Nous pensions qu’elle allait mourir. Mais, elle a r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9. Et apr\u00e8s avoir compl\u00e8tement recouvr\u00e9 la sant\u00e9, elle m’a emmen\u00e9e \u00e0 l’h\u00f4pital, j’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9e et le m\u00e9decin m’a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 mon statut VIH. Il m’a dit: \u00abDoreen, tu devras prendre des antir\u00e9troviraux pour le reste de ta vie\u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
