Apr\u00e8s 37 ans de pouvoir, le pr\u00e9sident angolais Jos\u00e9 dos Santos, \u00e2g\u00e9 de 74 ans a inform\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 publi\u00e9, vendredi 02 d\u00e9cembre, qu’il comptait c\u00e9der sa place \u00e0 la t\u00eate du Mouvement populaire pour la lib\u00e9ration de l’Angola (MPLA) \u00e0 son actuel ministre de la D\u00e9fense Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, rapporte nos confr\u00e8res de l’AFP.<\/p>\n

Conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la Constitution angolaise, il n’existe pas de scrutin pr\u00e9sidentiel. Cependant le poste de chef de l’Etat revient au chef du parti qui remporte les l\u00e9gislatives.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Le pr\u00e9sident Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos ne sera pas candidat<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 sa succession \u00e0 la t\u00eate du pays, a confirm\u00e9 \u00e0 l’AFP M. Pinto membre du parti populaire.<\/p>\n

Le nom de M. Louren\u00e7o, qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 vice-pr\u00e9sident du MPLA en ao\u00fbt, sera officiellement d\u00e9voil\u00e9 lors du 60e anniversaire du parti, le 10 d\u00e9cembre, selon\u00a0le porte parole.<\/p>\n

Le chef de l’Etat avait \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9\u00e9lu en ao\u00fbt \u00e0 la t\u00eate du MPLA. Il avait sem\u00e9 le trouble en affirmant en mars qu’il quitterait le pouvoir en 2018, un an apr\u00e8s les prochaines \u00e9lections.<\/p>\n

Depuis plusieurs semaines, de folles rumeurs courent dans le pays sur l’\u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 du pr\u00e9sident, et qui disent aussi qu’il s’appr\u00eate \u00e0 prendre sa retraite politique.<\/p>\n

Le MPLA est arriv\u00e9 au pouvoir en 1975, lorsque l’Angola a acquis son ind\u00e9pendance du joug Portugais. Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos a pris les r\u00eanes du pays quatre ans plus tard, apr\u00e8s la mort du chef historique du parti, Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n

En trente-sept ans, il a impos\u00e9 un r\u00e8gne sans partage sur le pays, plus gros producteur de p\u00e9trole d’Afrique subsaharienne avec le Nigeria, mais qui reste l’un des plus pauvres du monde.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
