N\u00e9 le 26 f\u00e9vrier 1984 \u00e0 Lom\u00e9 au Togo, il fait ses d\u00e9buts dans un club junior de quartier, le sporting Club de Lom\u00e9 \u00e0 Ny\u00e9konakpo\u00e9. Le 18 juillet 2009, il signe un contrat de cinq ans avec Manchester City. Le 25 janvier 2011, il rejoint le Real Madrid en Espagne mais le club ne l\u00e8ve pas l\u2019option d\u2019achat et Emmanuel Adebayor est de retour \u00e0 Manchester. Le 25 ao\u00fbt 2011, il est pr\u00eat\u00e9 \u00e0 Tottenham. Le joueur togolais a \u00e9galement pr\u00eat\u00e9 ses services au club anglais Crystal Palace.
