C’est une histoire qui risque d\u00e9sormais de faire reflechir deux fois\u00a0ceux qui doivent prendre la plus terrible des d\u00e9cisions: d\u00e9brancher un proche dans le coma des machines qui lui permettent \u00a0le garder en vie ou\u00a0de respirer, sans savoir s’il se r\u00e9veillera un jour.<\/p>\n

Dans le coma apr\u00e8s un terrible accident de voiture, une jeune Britannique de 22 ans a arr\u00eat\u00e9 les m\u00e9decins qui allaient la d\u00e9brancher en bougeant un orteil. Le corps m\u00e9dical avait conseill\u00e9 aux parents de Sam Hemming d’arr\u00eater les frais, apr\u00e8s 19 jours sans r\u00e9action et de gros dommages au cerveau. Ses proches\u00a0s’\u00e9taient donc pr\u00e9par\u00e9s au pire et au moment de stopper les machines,<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Sam est revenue d’entre les morts\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sa maman, Carol, explique au Daily Mail:<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Les m\u00e9decins ont coup\u00e9 les machines. Ils font g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement trois tentatives pour voir si le patient peut respirer par lui-m\u00eame avant de le laisser partir pour de bon. Au dernier essai, Sam a boug\u00e9 le gros orteil. Ce qui prouvait qui lui restait une certaine fonction c\u00e9r\u00e9brale. C’\u00e9tait incroyable. Si elle n’avait pas remu\u00e9 son orteil, elle ne serait pas l\u00e0 aujourd’hui.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sam a pu respirer seule gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une trach\u00e9otomie, raconte le\u00a0Daily Mail raconte . Une partie du cerveau de la jeune fille a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truit . Toutefois l’autre partie a pris le dessus. Elle a d\u00e9fi\u00e9 tous les pronostics et a \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de\u00a0parler \u00e0 nouveau et de r\u00e9apprendre \u00e0 marcher.<\/p>\n

Sam explique ne pas se souvenir de l’accident.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Je sais que je rentrais chez moi, c’est tout. Quand je vois les photos de moi dans le coma, c’est irr\u00e9el. Et quand j’entends que mon orteil m’a sauv\u00e9e, c’est incroyable. Je peux marcher un petit peu et je m’aide avec un d\u00e9ambulateur et un fauteuil roulant quand je suis trop faible. Je parle correctement mais je veux aller mieux maintenant.
