Les incendies continuent de mobiliser d’importants moyens en Gr\u00e8ce. Lundi 3 ao\u00fbt, les secours combattaient encore trois fronts au nord-ouest d’Ath\u00e8nes, tandis que le bilan des surfaces br\u00fbl\u00e9es d\u00e9passait 12 000 hectares en une semaine dans le pays.<\/p>\n

Trois fronts toujours actifs pr\u00e8s d’Ath\u00e8nes<\/h2>\n

Les principaux foyers se situaient \u00e0 Psatha, Kryo Pigadi et Kandyli, dans une zone comprise entre 45 et 70 kilom\u00e8tres au nord-ouest de la capitale grecque. La station baln\u00e9aire de Porto Germeno, \u00e9vacu\u00e9e depuis vendredi, fait partie des secteurs les plus touch\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Une baisse temporaire du vent a permis \u00e0 neuf bombardiers d’eau de reprendre leurs rotations. Neuf h\u00e9licopt\u00e8res et environ 450 pompiers participaient \u00e9galement aux op\u00e9rations dans les r\u00e9gions de l’Attique et de la B\u00e9otie.<\/p>\n

Les jours pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents, des rafales atteignant 80 \u00e0 130 km\/h avaient compliqu\u00e9 l’intervention des moyens a\u00e9riens. Le risque d’incendie restait class\u00e9 au niveau 4 sur 5 dans les deux r\u00e9gions.<\/p>\n

Les images prises le 2 ao\u00fbt par un satellite Sentinel-2 montrent une vaste cicatrice brune sur la rive nord du golfe de Corinthe. Le panache de fum\u00e9e s’\u00e9tendait sur plus de 70 kilom\u00e8tres vers le sud-est.<\/p>\n

Plus de 12 000 hectares br\u00fbl\u00e9s en une semaine<\/h2>\n

Les feux ont ravag\u00e9 des for\u00eats, des terres agricoles et des zones de maquis. Les estimations relay\u00e9es \u00e0 partir des analyses du programme europ\u00e9en Copernicus font \u00e9tat de plus de 12 000 hectares br\u00fbl\u00e9s en Gr\u00e8ce au cours de la semaine.<\/p>\n

Pour le seul incendie d\u00e9clench\u00e9 le 31 juillet pr\u00e8s de Psatha et Porto Germeno, Copernicus estime que plus de 10 000 hectares ont \u00e9t\u00e9 touch\u00e9s. Plus de 100 habitations auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truites ou endommag\u00e9es, selon les informations communiqu\u00e9es par les services grecs de lutte contre les incendies.<\/p>\n

La Gr\u00e8ce avait \u00e9t\u00e9 relativement \u00e9pargn\u00e9e au d\u00e9but de l’\u00e9t\u00e9. Elle affronte maintenant une deuxi\u00e8me semaine de feux importants, dans un contexte de chaleur et de s\u00e9cheresse qui fragilise l’ensemble du bassin m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en. AfrikMag avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 couvert de violents incendies en Gr\u00e8ce<\/a> en 2018.<\/p>\n

Un lourd bilan parmi les secours<\/h2>\n

La lutte contre les flammes a d\u00e9j\u00e0 co\u00fbt\u00e9 la vie \u00e0 plusieurs membres des \u00e9quipes d’intervention. Trois pompiers sont morts dans l’exercice de leurs fonctions la semaine derni\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Dimanche, deux h\u00e9licopt\u00e8res Bell sont entr\u00e9s en collision alors qu’ils intervenaient pr\u00e8s de Psatha. Un pilote danois et son copilote grec ont perdu la vie. Les deux occupants du second appareil, bless\u00e9s, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 hospitalis\u00e9s. Une enqu\u00eate a \u00e9t\u00e9 ouverte et les appareils du m\u00eame type pr\u00e9sents sur le terrain ont \u00e9t\u00e9 immobilis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Une enqu\u00eate sur l’origine du feu<\/h2>\n

\u00c0 Porto Germeno, deux employ\u00e9s d’une compagnie d’\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interpell\u00e9s dans le cadre de l’enqu\u00eate sur le d\u00e9part du feu. Les premi\u00e8res constatations \u00e9voquent une \u00e9tincelle provenant d’un c\u00e2ble \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n

La localit\u00e9, install\u00e9e sur le golfe de Corinthe, accueille de nombreux vacanciers et propri\u00e9taires de r\u00e9sidences secondaires pendant l’\u00e9t\u00e9. Les \u00e9vacuations et les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts frappent donc la zone en pleine saison touristique.
