Le cin\u00e9ma tient peut-\u00eatre l\u2019un de ses d\u00e9bats les plus sensibles du moment. Tilly Norwood, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme une \u00ab actrice \u00bb cr\u00e9\u00e9e par intelligence artificielle, doit tenir le r\u00f4le principal de Misaligned<\/em>, un long-m\u00e9trage en d\u00e9veloppement chez Particle6.<\/p>\n

Selon Deadline, il s\u2019agit de la premi\u00e8re fois que ce personnage num\u00e9rique m\u00e8ne un film. Tilly Norwood n\u2019est pas une personne r\u00e9elle. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e par Particle6, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019Eline van der Velden, et son existence divise d\u00e9j\u00e0 une partie d\u2019Hollywood.<\/p>\n

Un film situ\u00e9 dans le \u00ab Tillyverse \u00bb<\/h2>\n

Misaligned<\/em> est d\u00e9crit comme une com\u00e9die dramatique autour du passage \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge adulte, mais avec une dose de chaos li\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019intelligence artificielle. L\u2019histoire se d\u00e9roule dans le \u00ab Tillyverse \u00bb, un monde num\u00e9rique pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme situ\u00e9 quelque part dans le cloud.<\/p>\n

Le film suit Tilly, une entit\u00e9 IA sans corps r\u00e9el, sans enfance et sans exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue. D\u2019apr\u00e8s le synopsis cit\u00e9 par Deadline, tout bascule lorsqu\u2019un bot venu du dark web la pousse \u00e0 abandonner ses garde-fous et \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper ses propres d\u00e9sirs, impulsions et ambitions.<\/p>\n

Plus Tilly devient humaine dans le r\u00e9cit, plus elle gagne en c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9. Le projet joue donc volontairement avec le malaise que provoque d\u00e9j\u00e0 son existence dans la vraie industrie du cin\u00e9ma.<\/p>\n

Particle6 promet une production hybride<\/h2>\n

Particle6 affirme que Misaligned<\/em> r\u00e9unira des professionnels classiques du cin\u00e9ma, notamment des r\u00e9alisateurs, sc\u00e9naristes et monteurs, avec des sp\u00e9cialistes de l\u2019IA. Le studio pr\u00e9sente le film comme une mani\u00e8re de former des \u00e9quipes aux nouveaux outils tout en gardant une part de travail humain.<\/p>\n

Eline van der Velden affirme que l\u2019objectif est de montrer ce qui est possible avec l\u2019IA dans la cr\u00e9ation audiovisuelle. Elle assure aussi que le film sera dr\u00f4le, chaotique et conscient de lui-m\u00eame, tout en traitant de l\u2019identit\u00e9, de la performance et des peurs humaines face \u00e0 l\u2019IA.<\/p>\n

Hollywood reste tr\u00e8s m\u00e9fiant<\/h2>\n

Le nom de Tilly Norwood avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 provoqu\u00e9 une forte r\u00e9action dans l\u2019industrie apr\u00e8s des informations sur l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat suppos\u00e9 d\u2019agences de talents. Plusieurs acteurs et syndicats ont critiqu\u00e9 l\u2019id\u00e9e de donner une place professionnelle \u00e0 un personnage g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 par ordinateur.<\/p>\n

La SAG-AFTRA, le syndicat am\u00e9ricain des acteurs, avait rappel\u00e9 que Tilly Norwood n\u2019est pas une actrice, mais un personnage produit par un programme informatique. Le syndicat estime que ce type de cr\u00e9ation pose des questions sur l\u2019utilisation du travail de vrais artistes, leur image et leur r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n

CBC rappelle aussi que Particle6 est \u00e0 la fois le studio qui a cr\u00e9\u00e9 Tilly Norwood et celui qui d\u00e9veloppe Misaligned<\/em>. Pour certains observateurs, cela ressemble davantage \u00e0 une op\u00e9ration de communication qu\u2019\u00e0 une vraie r\u00e9volution du casting.<\/p>\n

Mais le sujet touche une inqui\u00e9tude r\u00e9elle : jusqu\u2019o\u00f9 les studios iront-ils avec des personnages synth\u00e9tiques, surtout si ces figures peuvent parler, jouer, poser et faire la promotion d\u2019un film sans avoir de vie humaine derri\u00e8re elles ?<\/p>\n

Pour l\u2019instant, Misaligned<\/em> est encore en d\u00e9veloppement.
