Lorsque le conflit au Moyen-Orient a perturb\u00e9 l’un des corridors \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques les plus importants au monde, rares \u00e9taient ceux qui s’attendaient \u00e0 ce qu’une raffinerie situ\u00e9e sur la c\u00f4te atlantique du Nigeria devienne l’un des principaux b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires.<\/p>\n

\n

C\u2019est pourtant pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment ce qui s\u2019est produit en avril 2026, lorsque la raffinerie de p\u00e9trole Dangote est devenue le premier exportateur mondial de carburant d\u2019aviation, selon les donn\u00e9es cit\u00e9es par S&P Global Commodities at Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cette \u00e9tape importante souligne l’influence croissante de la plus grande raffinerie d’Afrique sur les march\u00e9s mondiaux des carburants et met en \u00e9vidence la fa\u00e7on dont les bouleversements g\u00e9opolitiques redessinent les routes commerciales \u00e9tablies de longue date dans le secteur de l’\u00e9nergie.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dans un r\u00e9cent rapport de S&P Global Energy, le PDG de Dangote Refinery, David Bird, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l’entreprise avait bascul\u00e9 ses op\u00e9rations dans ce qu’il a d\u00e9crit comme un \u00ab mode de production maximale \u00bb apr\u00e8s que le conflit impliquant l’Iran, Isra\u00ebl et les \u00c9tats-Unis ait perturb\u00e9 les flux de carburant \u00e0 travers le Moyen-Orient.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00ab Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de la guerre au Moyen-Orient, Dangote est pass\u00e9 en mode \u00ab production maximale de carburant d’aviation \u00bb et, en avril, est devenu le premier exportateur mondial de carburant d’aviation \u00bb,<\/span><\/em>\u00a0indique le rapport, citant les donn\u00e9es de S&P Global Commodities at Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cette performance intervient alors que la raffinerie, d’une capacit\u00e9 de 650\u00a0000 barils par jour, a atteint sa pleine capacit\u00e9 de production apr\u00e8s une phase de mont\u00e9e en puissance progressive. L’installation a maintenu une production quasi maximale gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un syst\u00e8me de m\u00e9lange flexible qui int\u00e8gre des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res telles que le naphta issu de la conversion du gaz en liquides et le condensat de Bonny afin d’optimiser la production de carburant.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

L’essor de cette raffinerie a co\u00efncid\u00e9 avec une incertitude croissante concernant le d\u00e9troit d’Ormuz, voie maritime strat\u00e9gique par laquelle transite environ un cinqui\u00e8me des approvisionnements mondiaux en p\u00e9trole et en carburant. Les menaces pesant sur la navigation dans la r\u00e9gion ont tendu les cha\u00eenes d’approvisionnement en carburant et contraint les acheteurs de k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne \u00e0 rechercher des fournisseurs alternatifs hors du Moyen-Orient.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ce changement a cr\u00e9\u00e9 une opportunit\u00e9 pour la raffinerie Dangote, qui a rapidement augment\u00e9 ses exportations de carburant d’aviation \u00e0 mesure que la demande mondiale pour des sources d’approvisionnement autres que celles du Moyen-Orient augmentait.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Mais les dirigeants affirment que les ambitions de la raffinerie vont bien au-del\u00e0 des simples b\u00e9n\u00e9fices tir\u00e9s des perturbations temporaires du march\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

La raffinerie peut actuellement traiter une quarantaine de qualit\u00e9s de p\u00e9trole brut diff\u00e9rentes et pr\u00e9voit d’augmenter ce nombre au fil du temps. Selon Bird, l’objectif \u00e0 long terme est d’atteindre la flexibilit\u00e9 des grands centres de raffinage internationaux, comme la raffinerie de Pulau Bukom \u00e0 Singapour, qui traite plus de 100 types de p\u00e9trole brut.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Pour concr\u00e9tiser cette vision, Dangote Refinery \u00e9tudie des accords d’approvisionnement et d’enl\u00e8vement \u00e0 long terme avec des gouvernements, des compagnies a\u00e9riennes et des compagnies p\u00e9troli\u00e8res nationales.
