Les avocats de C\u00f4te d’Ivoire cimentent de plus en plus leur ancrage dans la d\u00e9fense des personnes en situation de handicap. Lors du premier colloque sur le handicap organis\u00e9 par le Barreau ivoirien, Me Florence Loan-Messan a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 un acte d’engagement, mais surtout un hommage \u00e0 Me Brigitte Mensah, avocate ivoirienne, qui a perdu la vue, mais dont la r\u00e9silience force le respect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le premier colloque sur le handicap organis\u00e9 par le Barreau ivoirien est une \u00e9tape, une prise de conscience sur un probl\u00e8me de soci\u00e9t\u00e9, selon Me Florence Loan-Messan. Au cours de son mot d’ouverture, le B\u00e2tonnier a expliqu\u00e9 le combat des avocats en faveur des personnes en situation de handicap par une volont\u00e9 de lutter contre l’exclusion. \u00ab\u00a0La justice ne peut \u00eatre totale, si elle exclut \u00ab\u00a0, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Me Florence Loan-Messan. Le combat des avocats pour les personnes en situation de handicap ne saurait \u00eatre un simple slogan, mais un acte d’engagement, une volont\u00e9 de pr\u00f4ner l’inclusion.<\/p>\n

Le B\u00e2tonnier Me Florence Loan-Messan a rendu un hommage appuy\u00e9 \u00e0 sa condisciple Me Brigitte Mensah<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ensuite, Me Florence Loan-Messan a fait savoir que ce colloque, s’il se veut global, est surtout un hommage \u00e0 une avocate ivoirienne: Me Brigitte Mensah. Cette avocate qui a pr\u00eat\u00e9 serment en 1996 avec l’actuel B\u00e2tonnier, est tomb\u00e9e malade par la suite. Avant de tomber dans une c\u00e9cit\u00e9 irr\u00e9versible. En d\u00e9pit de ce handicap qui mettait carr\u00e9ment fin \u00e0 sa carri\u00e8re d’avocate, Me Brigitte Mensah a brav\u00e9 cette situation et \u00e0 continuer \u00e0 exercer sa profession.<\/p>\n

\"Colloque<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00bb Ce colloque est un hommage au courage et \u00e0 la r\u00e9silience\u00a0\u00bb de Me Brigitte Mensah, a expliqu\u00e9 Me Florence Loan-Messan. Elle nous donne une le\u00e7on de vie et de courage, a continu\u00e9 Me Florence Loan-Messan. Ce combat humain et juridique est port\u00e9 avec une dignit\u00e9 admirable par Me Brigitte Mensah, se f\u00e9licite le B\u00e2tonnier. Pour Me Florence Loan-Messan, \u00a0\u00bb le handicap ne doit plus \u00eatre un frein \u00e0 la citoyennet\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb. Aussi croit-elle savoir que ce colloque est le point de d\u00e9part d’une action continue dans ce combat.<\/p>\n

Pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 ce colloque, Herv\u00e9 Gogo, repr\u00e9sentant du GIZ, a salu\u00e9 les progr\u00e8s en la mati\u00e8re tout en notant des d\u00e9fis persistants. Il a notamment cit\u00e9 les freins \u00e0 l’acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l’emploi. Il a donc appel\u00e9 les pan\u00e9listes \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur les m\u00e9canismes de promotion des personnes en situation de handicap. A sa suite, la pr\u00e9sidente de la Commission Nationale des Droits de l’Homme a mis en avant les points de convergence entre le Barreau ivoirien et son institution sur la d\u00e9fense des personnes en situation de handicap.<\/p>\n

Pour les 468.459 personnes vivant en situation de handicap, elle assure que les pouvoirs publics font de leur mieux, m\u00eame si des efforts restent \u00e0 faire. En effet, depuis 1967, l’Etat a adopt\u00e9 des textes de loi, une dizaine, pour faciliter l’insertion et la protection des personnes en situation de handicap. Me Brigitte Mensah, pan\u00e9liste \u00e0 ce colloque, estime qu’il s’agit du lancement d’un mariage entre deux mondes qui s’aiment mais qui n’arrivent pas \u00e0 mat\u00e9rialiser cet amour du fait de barri\u00e8res physiques et psychologiques.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
