Le pr\u00e9sident am\u00e9ricain Donald Trump a intensifi\u00e9 ses attaques contre les immigrants somaliens pour la deuxi\u00e8me journ\u00e9e cons\u00e9cutive, affirmant qu’ils avaient \u00ab d\u00e9truit le Minnesota \u00bb et \u00ab d\u00e9truit notre pays \u00bb. Ses propos interviennent dans un contexte de critiques croissantes concernant son langage incendiaire envers les communaut\u00e9s migrantes.<\/span><\/p>\n

S’adressant aux journalistes, Trump a d\u00e9crit le Minnesota comme \u00ab un v\u00e9ritable enfer en ce moment \u00bb, affirmant que les r\u00e9sidents somaliens \u00ab devraient \u00eatre partis \u00bb et qu’\u00ab ils ne font que se plaindre \u00bb. Ses propos font suite \u00e0 de r\u00e9centes affaires de fraude impliquant des personnes d’origine somalienne accus\u00e9es d’avoir d\u00e9tourn\u00e9 plus d’un milliard de dollars gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des aides li\u00e9es \u00e0 la Covid-19. Le Minnesota compte environ 80\u00a0000 Am\u00e9ricains d’origine somalienne.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les d\u00e9clarations de Trump co\u00efncident avec le lancement d’une nouvelle campagne de r\u00e9pression contre l’immigration clandestine dans la r\u00e9gion de Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Un haut responsable des forces de l’ordre a indiqu\u00e9 que le service de l’immigration et des douanes (ICE) ne cible pas sp\u00e9cifiquement les Somaliens, m\u00eame si certains pourraient \u00eatre arr\u00eat\u00e9s s’il est av\u00e9r\u00e9 qu’ils ont enfreint la l\u00e9gislation sur l’immigration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident a \u00e9galement intensifi\u00e9 ses attaques r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9es contre la repr\u00e9sentante Ilhan Omar du Minnesota, la premi\u00e8re Am\u00e9ricaine d’origine somalienne \u00e9lue au Congr\u00e8s. \u00ab Elle ne devrait pas avoir le droit d’\u00eatre membre du Congr\u00e8s \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Trump, ajoutant qu’elle devrait \u00eatre \u00ab expuls\u00e9e de notre pays \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Omar a fui la Somalie pendant la guerre civile, vivant ensuite dans un camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s kenyan avant d’arriver aux \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de 12 ans.<\/span><\/p>\n

R\u00e9agissant sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux, Omar a r\u00e9fut\u00e9 les propos de Trump en d\u00e9clarant : \u00ab Votre message de sectarisme ne fonctionnera pas. Les Am\u00e9ricains d’origine somalienne sont l\u00e0 pour rester. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

D’autres responsables du Minnesota ont condamn\u00e9 les propos de Trump. La s\u00e9natrice Tina Smith les a qualifi\u00e9s de \u00ab manifestation typique du sectarisme \u00bb, tandis que le maire de Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, s’est dit fier de la communaut\u00e9 somalienne de la ville, ce qui a incit\u00e9 Trump \u00e0 le traiter d’\u00ab imb\u00e9cile \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n
