Son calvaire a commenc\u00e9 il y a plus d\u2019un demi-si\u00e8cle, \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une rixe mortelle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00ab <em>Je suis venu ici \u00e0 cause d\u2019une bagarre<\/em> \u00bb, a-t-il expliqu\u00e9, la voix sans doute marqu\u00e9e par les ann\u00e9es, mais la m\u00e9moire intacte. \u00ab <em>Quelqu\u2019un poignardait mon ami avec une bouteille, et je lui ai demand\u00e9 pourquoi il faisait \u00e7a. Il s\u2019est retourn\u00e9 contre moi et m\u2019a poursuivi avec une bouteille, alors je l\u2019ai frapp\u00e9 et il est mort. C\u2019est ce qui m\u2019a amen\u00e9 ici. \u00bb<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><span class=\"s1\">Arr\u00eat\u00e9 et jug\u00e9 pour meurtre, le jeune homme qu\u2019il \u00e9tait alors a \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 la pendaison. Sa peine a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 commu\u00e9e en r\u00e9clusion \u00e0 perp\u00e9tuit\u00e9. Il a ainsi entam\u00e9 une longue errance carc\u00e9rale, passant 21 ans \u00e0 la prison de Nsawam avant d\u2019\u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 la prison centrale de Kumasi, o\u00f9 il a purg\u00e9 les 30 ann\u00e9es restantes.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Cette ann\u00e9e, le pr\u00e9sident John Dramani Mahama a accord\u00e9 une gr\u00e2ce pr\u00e9sidentielle \u00e0 998 d\u00e9tenus. Cette initiative, destin\u00e9e \u00e0 d\u00e9congestionner les prisons surpeupl\u00e9es et \u00e0 offrir une seconde chance \u00e0 des d\u00e9tenus consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme r\u00e9form\u00e9s, a \u00e9t\u00e9 le s\u00e9same qui a ouvert les portes \u00e0 Ola Amigo.<br \/>\n<\/span>Apr\u00e8s 51 ann\u00e9es d\u2019enfermement, l\u2019homme de 72 ans fait enfin face \u00e0 un monde radicalement transform\u00e9. Le Ghana qu\u2019il a connu dans sa jeunesse appartient \u00e0 une autre \u00e9poque.<br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\">Libre, le septuag\u00e9naire ne nourrit ni amertume ni projet de revanche. Son unique souhait est de trouver la paix et la s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9 dans le temps qui lui reste.<br \/>\n<\/span>\u00ab <em>J\u2019ai 72 ans.
