En f\u00e9vrier, il est devenu la premi\u00e8re personne au monde \u00e0 quitter l\u2019h\u00f4pital avec ce dispositif, qui l\u2019a maintenu en vie jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019un donneur soit disponible plus t\u00f4t ce mois-ci. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Selon un communiqu\u00e9 publi\u00e9 le mercredi 12 mars par l\u2019h\u00f4pital St. Vincent, l\u2019universit\u00e9 Monash et BiVACOR \u2013 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricano-australienne \u00e0 l\u2019origine du dispositif \u2013 l\u2019homme, qui souffrait d\u2019une insuffisance cardiaque s\u00e9v\u00e8re, est en \u00ab bonne voie de r\u00e9tablissement \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">La capacit\u00e9 du dispositif \u00e0 maintenir un patient en vie aussi longtemps est salu\u00e9e comme une avanc\u00e9e majeure, sugg\u00e9rant que ce c\u0153ur artificiel pourrait devenir une option \u00e0 long terme pour les personnes souffrant d\u2019insuffisance cardiaque. Toutefois, l\u2019appareil est encore en phase d\u2019essai et n\u2019a pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 approuv\u00e9 pour une utilisation g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Daniel Timms, bioing\u00e9nieur australien et fondateur de BiVACOR, a con\u00e7u ce c\u0153ur artificiel apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9c\u00e8s de son p\u00e8re des suites d\u2019une maladie cardiaque.
