Le jeune militant est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 des suites d&rsquo;une maladie soudaine alors qu&rsquo;il d\u00eenait dans un restaurant de Tr\u00e9vise, accompagn\u00e9 de sa famille.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\"><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rainews.it\/cropgd\/414x237\/dl\/img\/2024\/10\/06\/1728196410697_.n.jpg\"  alt=\"Sammy Basso, le plus vieux patient prog\u00e9ria de l&#039;histoire, d\u00e9c\u00e8de \u00e0 28 ans\"  width=\"641\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\">Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 en sciences naturelles,\u00a0<strong>il a consacr\u00e9 sa th\u00e8se \u00e0 la recherche de th\u00e9rapies possibles pour arr\u00eater l&rsquo;avanc\u00e9e de la prog\u00e9ria<\/strong>\u00a0et a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait chevalier par le pr\u00e9sident italien Sergio Mattarella en reconnaissance de son travail scientifique et social.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\">Basso a \u00e9galement fond\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00a0<strong>association italienne Progeria Sammy Basso<\/strong>\u00a0, dans le but de promouvoir la recherche et de soutenir d&rsquo;autres familles touch\u00e9es par cette maladie. La prog\u00e9ria est caus\u00e9e par une mutation du g\u00e8ne lamine A (LMNA), qui produit une prot\u00e9ine d\u00e9fectueuse appel\u00e9e prog\u00e9rine, responsable du vieillissement acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9.
