Que ce soit pour aller \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole, rester en contact avec des amis ou regarder des films, Internet est devenu quelque chose dont nous ne pouvons nous passer partout dans le monde, y compris en Afrique.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

En 2022, le taux de p\u00e9n\u00e9tration d’Internet en Afrique \u00e9tait \u00e0 la tra\u00eene par rapport aux autres r\u00e9gions du monde, avec seulement 40 % de la population du continent acc\u00e9dant au Web. En comparaison, environ 89 pour cent de la population europ\u00e9enne \u00e9taient des internautes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Selon Statista, cet \u00e9cart est largement influenc\u00e9 par des facteurs tels que le d\u00e9veloppement des infrastructures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Les coupures d\u2019Internet impos\u00e9es par le gouvernement constituent un autre d\u00e9fi pour l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 Internet. Entre 2015 et le premier semestre 2023, il y a eu 172 cas de perturbations de la connexion Internet locale dues \u00e0 des manifestations \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Pr\u00e8s\u00a0de quatre internautes sur dix dans le monde\u00a0ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des restrictions de leurs libert\u00e9s essentielles lorsqu\u2019ils utilisaient des plateformes en ligne, selon un rapport de 2022 sur la libert\u00e9 sur Internet.<\/div>\n

En Afrique, la pr\u00e9occupation croissante concernant\u00a0les coupures d\u2019Internet\u00a0occupe une place centrale. En Afrique subsaharienne par exemple,\u00a0selon\u00a0Top10VPN , les coupures majeures d’Internet ont \u00e9t\u00e9 principalement attribu\u00e9es aux\u00a0coups d’\u00c9tat militaires\u00a0et aux manifestations dans la r\u00e9gion .<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cela a entra\u00een\u00e9 un co\u00fbt \u00e9norme pour la r\u00e9gion, qui a connu un revers financier de 1,74 milliard de dollars pendant 30\u00a0785 heures d’indisponibilit\u00e9 d’Internet, affectant 84,8 millions de personnes en 2023, selon\u00a0Top10VPN\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Toutefois, les projections sugg\u00e8rent certaines am\u00e9liorations, le taux de p\u00e9n\u00e9tration d\u2019Internet en Afrique devant atteindre environ 48,15 pour cent d\u2019ici 2028.<\/p>\n
