L’attaque a eu lieu, le dimanche 17 juillet dernier, dans le village de Wardinle, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 une trentaine de kilom\u00e8tres de la ville de Baidoa, dans le sud de la Somalie. Les affrontements qui ont oppos\u00e9 le contingent \u00e9thiopien de l’Amisom \u00e0 des jihadistes du groupe islamiste somalien shebab ont fait 17 morts. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Deux jihadistes du groupe islamiste somalien shebab\u00a0ont fait irruption lors d\u2019un rassemblement habituel, dimanche dernier, autour d’une lecture coranique, selon un journaliste somalien pr\u00e9sent sur les lieux.<\/p>\n

Deux soldats \u00e9thiopiens de la Mission de l\u2019union Africaine en Somalie (Amisom) sont alors intervenus, mais ont d\u00fb essuyer les tirs des jihadistes. D’autres troupes \u00e9thiopiennes ont alors \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9p\u00each\u00e9es dans le village.<\/p>\n

Toujours selon ce journaliste, le bilan de ces affrontements fait \u00e9tat de 14 civils tu\u00e9s, deux combattants shebabs ainsi qu’un soldat \u00e9thiopien de l’Amisom. La Mission de l\u2019union Africaine en Somalie parle plut\u00f4t de sept shebabs tu\u00e9s dans les affrontements, sans \u00e9voquer de pertes du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des soldats \u00e9thiopiens.<\/p>\n

Une enqu\u00eate a \u00e9t\u00e9 ouverte pour faire la lumi\u00e8re sur ce drame, affirme le porte-parole de l’Amisom Joe Kibet. \u00ab\u00a0Nous ne pouvons pas confirmer aujourd\u2019hui le nombre de civils tu\u00e9s dans l\u2019attaque. C\u2019est pourquoi le secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019Amisom a fait un communiqu\u00e9 [mardi] disant qu\u2019une enqu\u00eate \u00e9tait ouverte pour \u00e9tablir si oui ou non il y avait des civils. Mais ce qu\u2019on sait, c\u2019est que sept shebabs sont morts dans l\u2019attaque, et que c\u2019est une r\u00e9gion contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par le contingent \u00e9thiopien de l\u2019Amisom\u00a0\u00bb, explique-t-il.<\/p>\n

Selon des t\u00e9moins, des hommes \u00e2g\u00e9s de 40 \u00e0 80 ans, dont des chefs traditionnels du village font partie des quatorze victimes civiles.<\/p>\n

L’Amisom compte bien faire la lumi\u00e8re sur cette affaire. Rappelons que ces affrontements interviennent alors que la mission de l’UA en Somalie change de commandant.
