Selon des scientifiques, la lutte contre le virus du VIH pourrait prendre une autre tournure avec l’apparition d’une nouvelle souche. Une nouvelle souche du VIH qui serait \u00ab\u00a0super-mutante\u00a0\u00bb et qui rend les personnes infect\u00e9es malades deux fois plus vite que les versions actuelles du virus. Une centaine de cas d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9tect\u00e9s dans un pays scandinave.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appel\u00e9 Variante VB, la nouvelle souche mutante du VIH a \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9e par des chercheurs de l’Universit\u00e9 d’Oxford. Selon le Daily Mail qui reprend l’information, le nouveau virus est pr\u00e9sent en Hollande o\u00f9 il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 infect\u00e9 109 personnes. D’apr\u00e8s lesdits chercheurs, la souche nouvelle endommage plus rapidement le syst\u00e8me immunitaire et affaiblit la capacit\u00e9 d’une personne \u00e0 combattre les infections et les maladies quotidiennes plus rapidement que les versions pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes du virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En un mot, ce nouveau virus peut conduire au d\u00e9veloppement rapide du SIDA. Une perspective inqui\u00e9tante au moment o\u00f9 des nouvelles heureuses pointaient sur la d\u00e9couverte et le d\u00e9veloppement d’un nouveau vaccin. En effet, l’\u00e9tude indique que la variante VB a une charge virale entre 3,5 et 5,5 fois plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e que la souche actuelle. Une nouvelle pas tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able dans la mesure o\u00f9 les personnes infect\u00e9es sont plus susceptibles de transmettre le virus \u00e0 d’autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bonne nouvelle dans cette grisaille, l’\u00e9tude confirme que les personnes atteintes de la variante r\u00e9cup\u00e8rent rapidement, si le traitement est administr\u00e9 plus t\u00f4t. En sus, ils ont aussi un taux de survie du syst\u00e8me immunitaire similaire \u00e0 celles des personnes infect\u00e9es par d’autres souches de VIH.
