Mais apr\u00e8s que les profondeurs du crat\u00e8re ont \u00e9t\u00e9 examin\u00e9es par l&rsquo;explorateur canadien George Kourounis en 2013, il a d\u00e9couvert que personne ne sait r\u00e9ellement comment l&rsquo;incendie a commenc\u00e9.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cependant, selon les g\u00e9ologues turkm\u00e8nes, l&rsquo;immense crat\u00e8re s&rsquo;est form\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1960 mais n&rsquo;a pris feu que dans les ann\u00e9es 1980. Le feu a \u00e9t\u00e9 surnomm\u00e9 la \u00ab porte de l&rsquo;enfer \u00bb et est une attraction touristique populaire au Turkm\u00e9nistan.
