Victor Hugo \u00e9tait connu pour \u00eatre un po\u00e8te des pauvres, un d\u00e9fenseur des mis\u00e9rables, des travailleurs, du bas peuple. Mais, son humanisme n\u2019\u00e9tait peut \u00eatre qu’eurocentrique, car dans son discours sur l\u2019Afrique le 18 mai 1879, laisse voir des traces de racisme vis-\u00e0-vis de l\u2019Afrique.
