Une journaliste et son fr\u00e8re ont h\u00e9rit\u00e9 d’une maladie grave du cerveau qui les emp\u00eachera de dormir, et finalement mettre un terme \u00e0 leur vie.<\/p>\n

Selon le Daily Mirror, Hayley Webb, \u00e2g\u00e9e de 30 ans, et son fr\u00e8re Lachlan, 28 ans, souffrent d’insomnie familiale fatale, une maladie rare qui n’a jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent pas de rem\u00e8de.<\/p>\n

La maladie extr\u00eamement rare touche une personne sur 10 millions \u00e0 travers le monde. Hayley et Lachlan n’ont aucune id\u00e9e de quand \u00e7a pourra se d\u00e9clencher. Malheureusement, la maladie a d\u00e9j\u00e0 tu\u00e9 leur m\u00e8re et leur grand-m\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Mais maintenant, ils font l’objet de tests m\u00e9dicaux, pour essayer de trouver un rem\u00e8de avant que la maladie ne se manifeste et prenne le dessus sur eux.Ils prendront part \u00e0 une \u00e9tude pionni\u00e8re \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 de Californie dirig\u00e9e par le couple am\u00e9ricain Eric Minikel et Sonia Vallabah.<\/p>\n

Le fr\u00e8re et la s\u0153ur, du Queensland, en Australie, esp\u00e8rent que la maladie – qui a \u00e9galement tu\u00e9 leur tante et leur oncle – va enfin \u00eatre soign\u00e9e.
\nLa maladie provoque des amas irr\u00e9guliers de prot\u00e9ines qui endommageent les cellules nerveuses et faire des trous dans la partie du cerveau qui r\u00e9gule le sommeil.
\nHayley a dit: \u00ab\u00a0cela pourrait se produire demain, mais jusqu’\u00e0 ce que nous soyons dans cette zone de danger nous avons probablement un bon 10 ans dans notre manche et je prie qu’il y ait un rem\u00e8de entre maintenant et apr\u00e8s.
