Idi Amin Dada \u00e9tait le troisi\u00e8me pr\u00e9sident de l’Ouganda, au pouvoir de 1971 \u00e0 1979.<\/p>\n

Il s’est d\u00e9crit comme: \u00abSon Excellence, le Pr\u00e9sident \u00e0 vie, le mar\u00e9chal Al Hajj Idi Amin Dada, The Great Kabaka, Conqu\u00e9rant de l’Empire britannique en Afrique en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et en Ouganda en particulier\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Idi Amin est peut-\u00eatre le plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre des dictateurs apr\u00e8s l’ind\u00e9pendance de toute l’Afrique. Il a pris le pouvoir apr\u00e8s un coup d\u2019\u00c9tat militaire en 1971 et a r\u00e9gn\u00e9 sur l’Ouganda pendant 8 ans. Les estimations du nombre de ses adversaires qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 soit tu\u00e9s, soit tortur\u00e9s ou emprisonn\u00e9s varient de 100.000 \u00e0 un demi-million, selon des sources concordantes.<\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9vinc\u00e9 en 1979 par les nationalistes ougandais, ce qui l’a contraint \u00e0 l’exil plus tard.<\/p>\n
