D\u2019apr\u00e8s Fatou Bensouda, ce sont  ces intimidations et ces menaces qui ont motiv\u00e9 les t\u00e9moins \u00e0 se r\u00e9tracter.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nous avons assist\u00e9 \u00e0 une campagne acharn\u00e9e pour identifier les personnes qui pourraient servir de t\u00e9moins \u00e0 charge dans ce dossier et faire en sorte qu&rsquo;elles ne t\u00e9moignent pas \u00bb affirme Fatou Bensouda dans un communiqu\u00e9.<br \/>\nLes juges de la Cour p\u00e9nale internationale ont alors d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019abandonner les poursuites contre le vice-pr\u00e9sident k\u00e9nyan William Ruto, faute de preuves suffisantes.<\/p>\n<p>En rappel, William Ruto \u00e9tait accus\u00e9 d&rsquo;avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine de certaines violences post-\u00e9lectorales. Les faits se seraient d\u00e9roul\u00e9s \u00e0 la suite de l\u2019\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle k\u00e9nyane de 2007. Les violences avaient fait environ 1 300 morts et pr\u00e8s 600 000 personnes avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 contraintes \u00e0 fuir. Depuis, les victimes demandent justice.
