Andr\u00e9 Mama Fouda, ministre de la Sant\u00e9 publique, a pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 lundi 29 mars, \u00e0 Yaound\u00e9, la remise solennelle d\u2019une subvention au Cameroun, se chiffrant \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de \u00a063,19 milliards de F CFA, par le Fonds mondial de lutte contre le sida, la tuberculose et le paludisme. \u00a0Ce don non remboursable sera r\u00e9parti comme suit\u00a0: 53,12 milliards pour la composante VIH\/Sida, auxquels devront s\u2019ajouter 6,11 milliards issus de la remise de la dette du Cameroun par l\u2019Espagne et 3,96 milliards pour la composante de la tuberculose. Ce don couvrira\u00a0la p\u00e9riode de janvier 2016 \u00e0 d\u00e9cembre 2017.<\/p>\n

Soulignons que ce don sera utilis\u00e9 pour financer la pr\u00e9vention de la transmission du VIH\/ Sida de la m\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019enfant, le paludisme, les nouvelles infections, la prise en charge des personnes infect\u00e9es, la co-infection tuberculose et VIH, \u00a0le renforcement du syst\u00e8me d\u2019approvisionnement des intrants et le suivi et \u00e9valuation.<\/p>\n

Pour le Directeur adjoint de l\u2019ONU SIDA Afrique de l\u2019Ouest et du Centre, Dr L\u00e9opold Zekeng\u00a0, apr\u00e8s le Nigeria, le Cameroun est le deuxi\u00e8me pays le plus touch\u00e9 par l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de VIH en Afrique de l\u2019Ouest et du Centre, avec une pr\u00e9valence d\u2019un peu plus de 4%, il compte 600 000 adultes et enfants qui vivent avec le VIH Sida, 48 000 nouvelles infections, 8 000 b\u00e9b\u00e9s qui naissent infect\u00e9s chaque ann\u00e9e, et un peu plus de 30 000 d\u00e9c\u00e8s.<\/p>\n

D\u2019apr\u00e8s les donn\u00e9es officielles du d\u00e9partement de la sant\u00e9, le minist\u00e8re de la Sant\u00e9 publique du Cameroun compte mettre 210 000 personnes sous antir\u00e9troviraux en 2016 et 260 000 en 2017, contre 170 000 qui le seraient actuellement.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est en 2003, un an apr\u00e8s sa cr\u00e9ation que le Cameroun entre en coop\u00e9ration avec le Fonds mondial. Il est \u00e0 noter que depuis cette union, les deux entit\u00e9s ont sign\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de 15 accords de financement, dont sept en faveur du Cameroun pour le VIH, cinq pour le paludisme, et trois pour la tuberculose.<\/p>\n
