Chaque unit\u00e9 comprenait deux rang\u00e9es d&rsquo;environ 40 pots, utilis\u00e9es pour chauffer le m\u00e9lange de c\u00e9r\u00e9ales et d&rsquo;eau pour fabriquer la bi\u00e8re, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le minist\u00e8re \u00e9gyptien du tourisme et des antiquit\u00e9s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Dr Matthew Adams, chef de la mission am\u00e9ricano-\u00e9gyptienne, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l&rsquo;ancienne brasserie produisait environ 22 400 litres de bi\u00e8re \u00e0 la fois. On pense que cela remonte \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque du roi Narmer, connu pour son unification de l&rsquo;\u00c9gypte au d\u00e9but de la premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode dynastique (3150 avant JC-2613 avant JC). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Dr Adams a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il semblait que l&rsquo;usine avait \u00e9t\u00e9 construite sp\u00e9cifiquement \u00e0 Abydos pour fournir de la bi\u00e8re pour les rituels qui se d\u00e9roulaient dans les installations fun\u00e9raires des rois d&rsquo;Egypte. Il a aussi fait savoir qu&rsquo;il y avait des preuves que la bi\u00e8re \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9e par les anciens \u00c9gyptiens dans les rites sacrificiels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abydos est l&rsquo;une des plus anciennes villes de l&rsquo;\u00c9gypte ancienne et comprenait une n\u00e9cropole, o\u00f9 les premiers pharaons ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ensevelis, avec de nombreux temples. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les monuments de la ville honoraient Osiris, le dieu des enfers &#8211; que les anciens Egyptiens croyaient qu&rsquo;il jugeait les \u00e2mes de l&rsquo;au-del\u00e0. Les arch\u00e9ologues britanniques ont mentionn\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois l&rsquo;existence de la brasserie au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1900 mais n&rsquo;ont pas pu localiser son emplacement, a ajout\u00e9 le minist\u00e8re des Antiquit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a
