Le 17 janvier 1961, Patrice Lumumba, Premier Ministre du Congo est sauvagement assassin\u00e9 au Katanga. C’est l’\u00e9pilogue d’une haute et t\u00e9n\u00e9breuse action de trahison de ses propres fr\u00e8res Africains, mais aussi et surtout l’apoth\u00e9ose d’une machination internationale ourdie par l’Occident, la Belgique et les Etats-Unis en particulier.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il n’a que 35 ans \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque. Ce 17 janvier 1961, c’est devant des adversaires jouissifs et totalement imbib\u00e9s de haine que Patrice Lumumba est tortur\u00e9, vilipend\u00e9, humili\u00e9 avant d’\u00eatre conduit vers une destination mortif\u00e8re o\u00f9 son supplice connaitra un \u00e9pilogue crapuleux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premier ministre congolais le 30 juin 1960, il n’aura pas le temps de montrer ce qu’il entendait faire pour son pays. Tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t cet homme qui n’avait pas sa langue dans sa poche, cet homme qui voyait la coop\u00e9ration entre les anciens colonisateurs et les nouveaux Etats ind\u00e9pendants en partenariat gagnant-gagnant, sera confront\u00e9 \u00e0 une machination internationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre 1958 et 1961, Patrice Lumumba est actif et arrive \u00e0 la t\u00eate du Congo dans un contexte de Guerre froide. La Belgique qui consid\u00e8re le Congo, ce vaste territoire africain serti de richesses incommensurables, comme un bien personnel, un patrimoine national, accorde l’ind\u00e9pendance du bout des l\u00e8vres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ainsi, au lendemain du 30 juin 1960, les Belges vont parvenir \u00e0 faire comprendre aux Am\u00e9ricains que Lumumba est un danger. C’est \u00e0 la limite, un communiste. En pleine Guerre Froide, le sort du jeune Premier Ministre est scell\u00e9. Son discours v\u00e9ridique devant le Roi Baudoin signera sa messe de requiem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrice Lumumba est un Premier Ministre qui marche sur des \u0153ufs. Seulement 6 jours apr\u00e8s l’ind\u00e9pendance, le complot contre lui se met en place. Les premi\u00e8res mutineries de la police \u00e9clatent le 5 juillet 1960. Le 11 juillet 1960, le Katanga de Moise Tschomb\u00e9, d\u00e9clare sa s\u00e9cession et son ind\u00e9pendance.

Patrice Lumumba ne peut plus gouverner. Le Pr\u00e9sident Kasa-Vubu et lui sont en crise. Une crise artificielle cr\u00e9\u00e9e par les Belges. En septembre 1960, la crise s’accentue et en novembre, Lumumba fuit Kinshasa. Il est arr\u00eat\u00e9 le 2 d\u00e9cembre 1960. Le sto\u00efcisme dont il fait preuve quand il est maltrait\u00e9 par ses propres fr\u00e8res Congolais reste grav\u00e9 dans des images immortelles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour l’humilier, il est, \u00e0 la fin d\u00e9cembre, amen\u00e9 au Katanga o\u00f9 il sera assassin\u00e9.\u00a0Son corps et celui de ses amis Okito et Mpolo sont affreusement d\u00e9coup\u00e9s et dissous dans des barriques d’acide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il n’avait que 35 ans. Son sacrifice et son martyr ont fait de lui une ic\u00f4ne de la lutte anti-imp\u00e9rialiste. Son image reste vivace dans les consciences comme celui qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 trahi par l’homme qu’il avait mis \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s, un certain Joseph D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Mobutu, qui participe activement \u00e0 son arrestation.
