L&rsquo;\u00e9picentre, \u00e0 une profondeur de 15,5 km, \u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 localis\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an Indien \u00e0 7\u00b0328 S 39\u00b0807 E, \u00e0 34 km E de l&rsquo;\u00eele de Kuruti, \u00e0 66 km ESE de Vikindu et \u00e0 81,8 km SE de\u00a0Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, aucun dommage humain ou blessure majeure n&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9. Des dommages l\u00e9gers sont \u00e0 noter, selon la qualit\u00e9 des structures r\u00e9sistantes aux secousses.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les estimations de profondeur sont d&rsquo;environ 10 km.&nbsp;Les habitants de Dar es Salaam, de l&rsquo;\u00eele de Zanzibar et d&rsquo;autres r\u00e9gions c\u00f4ti\u00e8res voisines ont ressenti des secousses mod\u00e9r\u00e9es \u00e0 fortes..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00eame \u00e0 Arusha, \u00e0 593 km au nord-ouest de l&rsquo;\u00e9picentre et plus au nord du Kenya, certaines personnes ont signal\u00e9 de l\u00e9gers tremblements, bien que le tremblement de terre ne causerait aucun dommage \u00e0 une telle distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peu de tremblements de terre d&rsquo;une telle ampleur se sont produits dans l&rsquo;histoire r\u00e9cente de cette r\u00e9gion car elle est loin des limites des plaques et des failles majeures.\u00a0L&rsquo;activit\u00e9 sismique en Afrique de l&rsquo;Est est principalement li\u00e9e au rift est-africain plus \u00e0 l&rsquo;est.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les gens pr\u00e8s de l&rsquo;\u00e9picentre ont rapport\u00e9 que le s\u00e9isme s&rsquo;est produit en deux vagues;\u00a0\u00a0il y a d&rsquo;abord eu \u00ab\u00a0<em>environ 8 \u00e0 10 secondes de vibration puis un long choc de 2 secondes\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, a rapport\u00e9 un t\u00e9moin .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le US Geological Survey (USGS) indique que 8,9 millions de personnes ont peut-\u00eatre ressenti le tremblement de terre, dont 59 000 personnes \u00e0 une intensit\u00e9 \u00abmod\u00e9r\u00e9e\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il s&rsquo;agissait du tremblement de terre le plus violent de la r\u00e9gion depuis septembre 2016, lorsqu&rsquo;un s\u00e9isme de magnitude 5,9 a frapp\u00e9 le nord-ouest de la Tanzanie, tuant au moins 17 personnes et en blessant plus de 400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En f\u00e9vrier dernier, Un s\u00e9isme de magnitude 7,5 frappe la Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-wordpress wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-afrikmag\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"vdsJZQ08Ak\"><a href=\"https:\/\/afrikmag.com\/var\/www\/vhosts\/afrikmag.compublic_html\/seisme-de-magnitude-75-frappe-papouasie-nouvelle-guinee\/\">Un s\u00e9isme de magnitude 7,5 frappe la Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u00ab\u00a0Un s\u00e9isme de magnitude 7,5 frappe la Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb \u2014 AfrikMag\" src=\"https:\/\/afrikmag.com\/var\/www\/vhosts\/afrikmag.compublic_html\/seisme-de-magnitude-75-frappe-papouasie-nouvelle-guinee\/embed\/#?secret=I3y2kGZDwg#?secret=vdsJZQ08Ak\" data-secret=\"vdsJZQ08Ak\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Un s\u00e9isme de magnitude 6,0 a frapp\u00e9 la\u00a0Tanzanie\u00a0le 12 ao\u00fbt 2020 \u00e0 17h13 UTC.
