Apr\u00e8s un parcours h\u00e9ro\u00efque achev\u00e9 en finale de la Can de 1986, il y a remport\u00e9 la CAN 1988 et a ensuite guid\u00e9 les Lions Indomptables au Mondial 1998 en France. C\u2019est lui qui a pos\u00e9 les jalons de la Dream Team qui marchera sur les \u00e9quipes africaines de football en 2000 et 2002 sous la houlette de son filleul\u00a0<strong>Pierre Lechantre<\/strong>. C\u2019est dire si l\u2019ancien entraineur de Strasbourg a gard\u00e9 un lien fort avec le Cameroun dont il a m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 un moment officieusement, conseiller sp\u00e9cial \u00e0 la Pr\u00e9sidence de la R\u00e9publique, raconte le jour.<\/p>\n<p>Au lendemain de la qualification de l\u2019\u00e9quipe congolaise pour le 3<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup>\u00a0tour des \u00e9liminatoires zone Afrique du Mondial de 2018,\u00a0<strong>Claude Le Roy<\/strong>\u00a0a quitt\u00e9 son poste le mardi 17 novembre 2015. Il avait qualifi\u00e9 le Congo pour les quarts de finale de la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente Coupe d\u2019Afrique des Nations (CAN 2015). Une premi\u00e8re pour le pays depuis 23 ans. Il laisse \u00e9galement l\u2019\u00e9quipe en t\u00eate du groupe E de qualification \u00e0 la CAN 2017.
