C&rsquo;est en 1947 qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;installe \u00e0\nMbalmayo et se lance dans les affaires. Neuf ans plus tard, il construit un\ncentre commercial.&nbsp; En 1955, il s&rsquo;est\nlanc\u00e9 dans le transport, mais il l&rsquo;a arr\u00eat\u00e9 en 1960.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En 1970, il lance la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Africaine de Fabrication de\nCahiers (SAFCA). Il cr\u00e9e ensuite la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 PILCAM, sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans la\nproduction de batteries \u00e9lectriques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ses activit\u00e9s prenant de l\u2019ampleur, il se lance dans les transports publics en 1960. Et, en partenariat avec le Fran\u00e7ais Pierre Castel, grand patron des Brasseries et Glaci\u00e8res Internationales (BGI), il investit dans l&rsquo;importation de vins et spiritueux. Quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, un autre Fran\u00e7ais, Jacques Lacombe, alors directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Industrielle et Foresti\u00e8re des Allumettes (SIFA), une filiale de la Compagnie du Midi, l&rsquo;introduit dans le secteur. Avec le soutien de cet ancien \u00e9l\u00e8ve de Polytechnique, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 en 1996, Fotso  Victor  d\u00e9veloppe progressivement ses activit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Propri\u00e9taire en 1970 de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de Fabrication de Cahiers\n(Safca), il se retrouve un quart de si\u00e8cle plus tard, \u00e0 la t\u00eate d&rsquo;une dizaine\nd&rsquo;entreprises dans des secteurs vari\u00e9s : piles \u00e9lectriques (Pilcam), h\u00f4tellerie\n(Ibis Douala), allumettes (Unalor et CIS), emballage (Fabasem), chimie\n(Fermencam), agro-industrie (Proleg), alimentation (Sopral).
