L&rsquo;un de ses cousins, Haitham ben Tarek, lui a succ\u00e9d\u00e9 samedi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est avec tristesse (&#8230;) que le sultanat d&rsquo;Oman pleure notre sultan Qabous ben Sa\u00efd qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 rappel\u00e9 \u00e0 Dieu vendredi soir\u00a0\u00bb, a indiqu\u00e9 sur Twitter le minist\u00e8re de l&rsquo;Information citant un communiqu\u00e9 du cabinet royal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le sultan n\u2019avait pas d\u2019h\u00e9ritier d\u00e9sign\u00e9 mais son cousin, Haitham ben Tarek, a rapidement \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi comme nouveau souverain d&rsquo;Oman, pays situ\u00e9 entre l&rsquo;Iran et l&rsquo;Arabie saoudite.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Qabous, qui avait pris le pouvoir \u00e0 son p\u00e8re lors d&rsquo;un coup d&rsquo;Etat en juillet 1970  avec l&rsquo;aide de l&rsquo;ancienne puissance coloniale d&rsquo;Oman, la Grande-Bretagne, souffrait depuis un certain temps d&rsquo;une maladie qui pourrait selon des diplomates \u00eatre un cancer du c\u00f4lon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leparisien.fr\/resizer\/Y4PPsG7Y664WY92jVdl6T34xOmA=\/932x582\/arc-anglerfish-eu-central-1-prod-leparisien.s3.amazonaws.com\/public\/3F3G2HX7BALABE57N2D4VGBMZY.jpg\"  alt=\"Le sultan d&#039;Oman d\u00e9c\u00e8de sans h\u00e9ritier apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9gn\u00e9 pendant 50 ans\"  width=\"592\" height=\"369\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le sultan qui s&rsquo;est r\u00e9cemment rendu en Belgique dans ce que le tribunal a d\u00e9crit comme un examen m\u00e9dical \u00e9tait en mauvaise sant\u00e9.
