Kertisha Brabson, originaire de l’Ohio aux \u00c9tats-Unis, maman de deux enfants et \u00e2g\u00e9e de 31 ans, \u00e9tait \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital depuis sept mois apr\u00e8s avoir contract\u00e9 une enc\u00e9phalite anti-NMDA, ou enc\u00e9phalite limbique (inflammation du cerveau).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brabson, 31 ans, ne serait pas en vie aujourd’hui sans sa m\u00e8re qui n’a jamais perdu espoir qu’elle se r\u00e9veillerait \u00e0 nouveau. Sa m\u00e8re, Kertease Williams, l’a amen\u00e9e \u00e0 l’h\u00f4pital en septembre 2018 lorsqu’elle a remarqu\u00e9 des probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 avec sa fille . Une fois \u00e0 l’h\u00f4pital, elle faisait des choses \u00e9tranges telles que chercher des choses invisibles, se parler et danser sans musique avant d’avoir une crise qui l’a plong\u00e9e dans le coma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les m\u00e9decins ont finalement d\u00e9couvert que Kertisha souffrait d’enc\u00e9phalite anti-r\u00e9cepteur NMDA, dans laquelle le corps combat ses propres cellules c\u00e9r\u00e9brales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kertease, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 CBS Chicago\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Les m\u00e9decins m\u2019ont dit qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait en mort c\u00e9r\u00e9brale et qu\u2019ils allaient la d\u00e9brancher. Je n\u2019ai pas de formation m\u00e9dicale. Je n\u2019ai jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole, mais quand c\u2019est ton enfant, tu ferais tout pour la ramener\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir visit\u00e9 plusieurs h\u00f4pitaux, Kertisha a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 amen\u00e9e au Wexner Medical Center de l’Ohio State. Le Dr Shraddha Mainali, sp\u00e9cialiste des AVC et des soins neurocritiques, qui a admis que le taux de mortalit\u00e9 pour son \u00e9tat est sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 60%, l’a trait\u00e9e. Kertisha faisait toujours jusqu’\u00e0 20 crises par jour, mais l’\u00e9quipe du Dr Mainali a travaill\u00e9 dur pour la soigner. Apr\u00e8s quatre mois sous sa garde, elle s’est r\u00e9veill\u00e9e. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019est le 7 avril 2019, soit sept mois apr\u00e8s \u00eatre entr\u00e9e dans le coma, que Kertisha s\u2019est r\u00e9veill\u00e9e. Au moment o\u00f9 la jeune maman s\u2019est r\u00e9veill\u00e9e, non seulement sa m\u00e8re, mais aussi les m\u00e9decins, ne croyaient pas ce qu\u2019ils voyaient. \u00ab\u00a0Oh mon dieu, nous avons juste saut\u00e9 de haut en bas, personne n\u2019a dormi ce jour-l\u00e0\u00a0\u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Kertease. Le Docteur Shraddha Mainali, l\u2019un de m\u00e9decins qui s\u2019occupaient de Kertisha, a qualifi\u00e9 ce qui \u00e9tait arriv\u00e9 de \u00ab\u00a0miraculeux\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019un de mes coll\u00e8gues qui \u00e9tait de garde la nuit m\u2019a envoy\u00e9 un texto le matin et m\u2019a dit \u2018vous ne croirez pas ce que j\u2019ai vu aujourd\u2019hui\u2019\u00a0\u00bb, explique le Docteur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\nKertisha a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu’elle ne savait pas que 7 mois s’\u00e9taient \u00e9coul\u00e9s alors qu’elle dormait et dans le coma. Elle a dit: \u00abJe n’en ai aucune id\u00e9e. Je ne me souviens de rien. \u00a0\u00bb\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kertisha a pu passer les f\u00eates avec sa maman et ses deux enfants, Diamonique et Perez. Le Docteur Shraddha est confiant quant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9volution de sa patiente. \u00ab\u00a0J\u2019ai bon espoir, je pense qu\u2019elle va bien se porter et je l\u2019esp\u00e8re, mener une vie normale\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
