Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un virus de type VIH-1\u00a0appartenant au sous-type L du groupe M, le plus r\u00e9pandu (99 % des infections).\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La souche fait partie de la version du groupe M de HIV-1, la m\u00eame famille de sous-types de virus responsable de la pand\u00e9mie mondiale de VIH, selon Abbott Laboratories, qui a men\u00e9 la recherche avec l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du Missouri, \u00e0 Kansas City.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les r\u00e9sultats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s mercredi, 7 novembre, dans le Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes.  Le VIH a plusieurs sous-types ou souches diff\u00e9rentes et, \u00e0 l&rsquo;instar d&rsquo;autres virus, il a la capacit\u00e9 de changer et de muter au fil du temps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il s&rsquo;agit de la premi\u00e8re nouvelle souche de VIH du groupe M identifi\u00e9e depuis l&rsquo;\u00e9tablissement de lignes directrices pour la classification des sous-types en 2000. Il est important de savoir quelles souches du virus circulent pour garantir l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 des tests utilis\u00e9s pour d\u00e9tecter la maladie.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img  title=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.futura-sciences.com\/buildsv6\/images\/largeoriginal\/2\/c\/8\/2c8668e4f0_50156594_vih-1-dani3315-adobe-stock.jpg\"  alt=\"Une nouvelle souche de VIH identifi\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois depuis 19 ans\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCela peut \u00eatre un v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9fi pour les tests de diagnostic \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mary Rodgers, co-auteur du rapport et scientifique principal chez Abbott.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 teste plus de 60% des r\u00e9serves de sang dans le monde, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9, et ils doivent rechercher de nouvelles souches et en suivre celles qui sont en circulation afin que \u00abnous puissions la d\u00e9tecter avec pr\u00e9cision, peu importe o\u00f9 elle se trouve dans le monde\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Dr. Anthony Fauci, directeur de l&rsquo;Institut national des maladies allergiques et infectieuses, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que les traitements actuels du VIH sont efficaces contre cette souche et d&rsquo;autres.  Cependant, l\u2019identification d\u2019une nouvelle souche fournit une carte plus compl\u00e8te de l\u2019\u00e9volution du VIH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab\u00a0Il n\u2019ya aucune raison de paniquer ou m\u00eame de s\u2019inqui\u00e9ter un peu\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Fauci.  \u00abPeu de gens sont infect\u00e9s par cela.  Ceci est un cas particulier. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour que les scientifiques puissent d\u00e9clarer qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un nouveau sous-type, il faut en d\u00e9tecter trois cas de mani\u00e8re ind\u00e9pendante.  Les deux premi\u00e8res souches ont \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9es en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo en 1983 et 1990. Les deux souches \u00e9taient \u00abtr\u00e8s inhabituelles et ne correspondaient pas aux autres souches\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Rodgers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le troisi\u00e8me \u00e9chantillon trouv\u00e9 au Congo a \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9 en 2001 dans le cadre d&rsquo;une \u00e9tude visant \u00e0 pr\u00e9venir la transmission du virus de la m\u00e8re \u00e0 l&rsquo;enfant.  L&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon \u00e9tait petit et, bien qu&rsquo;il paraisse similaire aux deux \u00e9chantillons plus anciens, les scientifiques ont voulu tester l&rsquo;ensemble du g\u00e9nome pour en \u00eatre s\u00fbr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, il n\u2019existait pas de technologie permettant de d\u00e9terminer s\u2019il s\u2019agissait du nouveau sous-type.  Les scientifiques d\u2019Abbott et de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Missouri ont donc mis au point de nouvelles techniques pour \u00e9tudier et cartographier l\u2019\u00e9chantillon de 2001.  Rodgers a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que c\u2019\u00e9tait \u00abcomme chercher une aiguille dans une botte de foin\u00bb, puis \u00absortir l\u2019aiguille avec un aimant\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00abCette d\u00e9couverte nous rappelle que pour mettre fin \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie de VIH, nous devons continuer \u00e0 penser \u00e0 ce virus en constante \u00e9volution et \u00e0 utiliser les derni\u00e8res avanc\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re de technologie et de ressources pour surveiller son \u00e9volution\u00bb, co-auteur de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, Carole McArthur, professeure au d\u00e9partement des sciences orales et craniofaciales de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du Missouri, \u00e0 Kansas City, a indiqu\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selon l&rsquo;Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9, environ 36,7 millions de personnes dans le monde vivent avec le VIH.
