Le cosmonaute sovi\u00e9tique Alexe\u00ef Leonov, qui est devenu la premi\u00e8re personne dans l’histoire \u00e0 \u00eatre sortie de l’espace en 1965, est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 85 ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attach\u00e9 \u00e0 un vaisseau spatial par un c\u00e2ble de 4,8 m, le\nRusse a flott\u00e9 au-dessus de la Terre pendant 12 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Vous ne pouvez pas le comprendre. Ce n’est qu’\u00e0 l’ext\u00e9rieur que l’on peut sentir la grandeur – l’immensit\u00e9 de tout ce qui nous entoure \u00bb<\/em> a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Leonov \u00e0 la BBC en 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais la sortie du cosmonaute a failli se solder par un\nd\u00e9sastre lorsque son scaphandre spatial s’est gonfl\u00e9 et qu’il a eu du mal \u00e0 remonter\ndans le vaisseau spatial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 les Etats-Unis et l’URSS se disputaient la\nsupr\u00e9matie spatiale, la mission de Leonov a \u00e9t\u00e9 salu\u00e9e comme un triomphe au pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les ambitions de Leonov ne se sont pas arr\u00eat\u00e9es \u00e0 sa sortie\ndans l’espace. Il est ensuite devenu le commandant de Soyouz-Apollo, la toute\npremi\u00e8re mission conjointe am\u00e9ricano-sovi\u00e9tique en 1975.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonov est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 vendredi \u00e0 l’h\u00f4pital Burdenko de Moscou\napr\u00e8s une longue maladie, a confirm\u00e9 son assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le cosmonaute russe Oleg Kononenko a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que la mort de Leonov est une \u00ab perte pour la plan\u00e8te enti\u00e8re \u00bb, tandis que le pr\u00e9sident Vladimir Poutine a salu\u00e9 le courage de l’astronaute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonov est n\u00e9 en Sib\u00e9rie, son p\u00e8re \u00e9tant victime de la\nr\u00e9pression stalinienne. Sa famille s\u2019est install\u00e9e \u00e0 Kaliningrad, dans l’ouest\nde la Russie, en 1948.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En tant que pilote de l’arm\u00e9e de l’air, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour\ns’entra\u00eener comme cosmonaute en 1960. Il s’est entra\u00een\u00e9 avec Yuri Gagarin, le\npremier humain dans l’espace, et ils sont devenus des amis proches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexe\u00ef Leonov a d\u00e9crit sa sortie dans l’espace\nextra-atmosph\u00e9rique dans de nombreux entretiens avec les m\u00e9dias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab C’\u00e9tait si calme que je pouvais m\u00eame entendre mon c\u0153ur battre \u00bb<\/em> a-t-il confi\u00e9 \u00e0 l’Observateur. \u00ab J’\u00e9tais entour\u00e9 d’\u00e9toiles et je flottais sans beaucoup de contr\u00f4le. Je n’oublierai jamais ce moment. J’ai aussi ressenti un incroyable sens des responsabilit\u00e9s. Bien s\u00fbr, je ne savais pas que j’allais vivre les moments les plus difficiles de ma vie ; retourner dans la capsule \u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lui et son pilote Pavel Belyayev ont \u00e9t\u00e9 salu\u00e9s comme des\nh\u00e9ros \u00e0 leur retour, mais seulement apr\u00e8s avoir atterri en catastrophe dans une\nfor\u00eat de l’Oural et attendu trois jours pour \u00eatre secourus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dix ans plus tard, Leonov \u00e9tait l’un des deux cosmonautes\nsovi\u00e9tiques impliqu\u00e9s dans le premier amarrage des vaisseaux spatiaux\nam\u00e9ricains et sovi\u00e9tiques – Apollo 18 et Soyouz 19 – pendant une p\u00e9riode de\nd\u00e9tente entre les deux pays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il a re\u00e7u \u00e0 deux reprises la plus haute m\u00e9daille du pays,\nH\u00e9ros de l’Union sovi\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
