{"id":160129,"date":"2019-07-01T11:05:01","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T11:05:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afrikmag.com\/var\/www\/vhosts\/afrikmag.compublic_html\/?p=160129"},"modified":"2019-07-01T11:05:01","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T11:05:01","slug":"kenya-le-premier-gel-vaginal-anti-vih-entre-en-phase-dessai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afrikmag.com\/var\/www\/vhosts\/afrikmag.compublic_html\/kenya-le-premier-gel-vaginal-anti-vih-entre-en-phase-dessai\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenya : Le premier gel vaginal anti-VIH entre en phase d&rsquo;essai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Un gel fabriqu\u00e9 au Kenya qui peut tuer le virus qui cause le sida entre dans une phase d&rsquo;essai importante.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Fabriqu\u00e9 en 2007, UniPron n\u2019agit pas seulement contre le VIH, mais peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour prot\u00e9ger contre la grossesse en tuant les spermatozo\u00efdes et comme des lubrifiants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Le gel, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Institut de recherche sur les primates (IPR), un organisme d&rsquo;\u00c9tat, est maintenant pr\u00eat pour les derniers essais cliniques chez l&rsquo;homme, selon le chercheur principal Peter Gichuhi Mwethera.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\"><em>\u00ab\u00a0Pour la phase suivante et finale, nous avons constitu\u00e9 une \u00e9quipe solide d&rsquo;universitaires, de docteurs, d&rsquo;investisseurs et de sp\u00e9cialistes du marketing\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, explique le Dr Mwethera, dont l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9compens\u00e9e cette ann\u00e9e \u00e0 Londres pour son innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Le Dr Kavoo Linge, gyn\u00e9cologue consultant \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital de Nairobi et conseiller clinique du projet, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait une demande pour l&rsquo;approbation \u00e9thique et statutaire des essais propos\u00e9s. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\"><em>\u00ab\u00a0Nous sommes en pourparlers avec plusieurs institutions ayant la capacit\u00e9 et les connaissances requises pour mener des essais cliniques sur des humains selon les normes de qualit\u00e9 et d&rsquo;\u00e9thique les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Si les essais chez l&rsquo;homme r\u00e9ussissent, le Kenya pourrait \u00eatre le premier pays au monde \u00e0 mettre sur le march\u00e9 un microbicide anti-VIH efficace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Selon l&rsquo;Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9, un microbicide est une substance appliqu\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur du vagin ou du rectum pour r\u00e9duire la transmission des infections sexuellement transmissibles, dont le VIH.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">UniPron est fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 base de jus de citron et d&rsquo;autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments.
