Il n&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9clar\u00e9 innocent qu&rsquo;en 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">L\u2019homme \u00e2g\u00e9, r\u00e9sident du district de Yen Phong dans la province de Bac Ninh, a re\u00e7u la somme de 252\u00a0944 euros en guise de d\u00e9dommagement pour les ann\u00e9es pass\u00e9es en prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Sa famille et lui exigeait plus de 2 millions d\u2019euros en compensation de son calvaire, qui comprenait deux condamnations \u00e0 mort. Apr\u00e8s de longues n\u00e9gociations, ils ont accept\u00e9 de prendre moins de la moiti\u00e9 de ce qu\u2019ils demandaient \u00e0 cause de l\u2019\u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 de la victime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons attendus trop longtemps et Them est d\u00e9j\u00e0 trop \u00e2g\u00e9 et sa sant\u00e9 se d\u00e9grade progressivement\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 la famille.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Selon les archives de la police, Them et son cousin Nguyen Khac Van \u00e9taient en route pour acheter des marchandises dans la province de Vinh Phu le 23 juin 1970, rapporte VnExpress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Alors qu\u2019ils dormaient sous un abri de fortune utilis\u00e9 par un barbier de rue pendant la journ\u00e9e, ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 attaqu\u00e9s et cambriol\u00e9s. Van a \u00e9t\u00e9 touch\u00e9 \u00e0 la t\u00eate et Them a \u00e9t\u00e9 bless\u00e9. Van est mort \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital plus tard et la police a conclu que Them avait commis un vol et un meurtre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Lors du proc\u00e8s en premi\u00e8re instance en 1973, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 mort, et la sentence a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9e en 1974. Them a refus\u00e9 d&rsquo;admettre qu\u2019il \u00e9tait coupable, insistant qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait innocent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">En 1976, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9 apr\u00e8s qu&rsquo;un homme de la r\u00e9gion a admis avoir commis ce crime. Mais le suspect est mort en 1984, avant que le tribunal ne reprenne le proc\u00e8s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Parce que les enqu\u00eateurs n&rsquo;ont pas poursuivi leur enqu\u00eate et qu&rsquo;ils n&rsquo;ont pas r\u00e9solu l&rsquo;affaire, ils ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une requ\u00eate en 1997, demandant \u00e0 la Cour supr\u00eame d&rsquo;examiner l&rsquo;affaire, mais rien n&rsquo;a chang\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Le 6 d\u00e9cembre 2004, ils ont d\u00e9pos\u00e9 une autre requ\u00eate, mais \u00e0 cette date, les membres du Conseil du tribunal avaient d\u00e9truit tous les dossiers des proc\u00e8s en premi\u00e8re instance et en appel. La police \u00e9tait contrainte de reprendre l&rsquo;enqu\u00eate conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la r\u00e9glementation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">11 longues ann\u00e9es plus tard, les enqu\u00eateurs ont recueilli suffisamment de preuves pour clore l&rsquo;affaire et affirmer l\u2019innocence de Them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Le 8 ao\u00fbt 2016, les enqu\u00eateurs ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019arr\u00eater l\u2019enqu\u00eate et la Cour supr\u00eame a conclu qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait innocent. Trois jours plus tard, le tribunal a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ses excuses \u00e0 la victime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">En 2017, la Cour supr\u00eame a supprim\u00e9 tous les casiers judiciaires de Them et a entam\u00e9 les n\u00e9gociations pour une indemnisation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Them est d\u00e9sormais un homme libre et esp\u00e8re profiter du temps qui lui reste : <em>\u00ab\u00a0Pendant toutes ces ann\u00e9es en prison, j\u2019avais la conviction qu&rsquo;un jour je serais d\u00e9clar\u00e9 innocent et que la police arr\u00eaterait d\u00e9finitivement le vrai coupable. J&rsquo;ai souffert pendant toutes ces ann\u00e9es. Les gens et les membres de ma famille m\u2019\u00e9vitaient.
