L’\u00e9chec d’un coup d’\u00c9tat dans le nord de l’\u00c9tat r\u00e9gional d’Amhara, au nord de l’\u00c9thiopie, a entra\u00een\u00e9 la mort de quatre personnes, dont le chef d’\u00e9tat-major de l’arm\u00e9e et le chef d’une r\u00e9gion importante, a confirm\u00e9 dimanche le bureau du Premier ministre Abiy Ahmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’incident a commenc\u00e9 samedi soir \u00e0 Bahir Dar, la capitale d’Amhara, o\u00f9 le pr\u00e9sident de la r\u00e9gion Ambachew Mekonnen et le conseiller du gouvernement r\u00e9gional d’Amhara, Ezez Wassie, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s par balles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le procureur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la r\u00e9gion, Migbaru Kebede, a \u00e9t\u00e9 gri\u00e8vement bless\u00e9 et suit actuellement un traitement m\u00e9dical, a indiqu\u00e9 le bureau du Premier ministre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pendant ce temps, \u00e0 Addis-Abeba, la capitale du pays, le chef d’Etat-major de l’arm\u00e9e, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Seare Mekonnen, et le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de division \u00e0 la retraite Gezai Abera ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s au domicile de M. Mekonnen par son garde du corps, indique la d\u00e9claration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le chef d’Etat-major de l’arm\u00e9e, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Seare, coordonnait une r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 l’attaque d’Amhara quand il a \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l’attach\u00e9 de presse du Premier ministre Billene Seyoum \u00e0 CNN dimanche.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abiy attribue la tentative de coup d’\u00c9tat \u00e0 un g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de brigade nomm\u00e9 Asaminew Tsige et \u00e0 d’autres. Tsige est le chef du Bureau de la paix et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du gouvernement r\u00e9gional depuis qu’il a \u00e9t\u00e9 amnisti\u00e9 et lib\u00e9r\u00e9 de prison l’ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n

La situation dans l’Amhara \u2013 situ\u00e9 au nord-ouest de l’\u00c9thiopie et l’un des neuf \u00c9tats r\u00e9gionaux du pays \u2013 est maintenant enti\u00e8rement sous le contr\u00f4le du gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral, a ajout\u00e9 la d\u00e9claration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Premier ministre \u00ab\u00a0transmet ses plus sinc\u00e8res condol\u00e9ances et ses condol\u00e9ances \u00e0 la famille et aux amis du d\u00e9funt\u00a0\u00bb, pouvait-on lire.<\/span><\/p>\n

V\u00eatu d\u2019une tenue militaire, le Premier ministre Abiy a assur\u00e9 au public, lors d’une conf\u00e9rence de presse t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9e samedi, que l’\u00e9chec du coup d’\u00c9tat n’avait \u00ab\u00a0pas \u00e9t\u00e9 commis par un groupe ethnique mais par des individus malintentionn\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il a appel\u00e9 \u00ab tous les \u00c9thiopiens, arm\u00e9s et non arm\u00e9s \u00bb \u00e0 se tenir aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du gouvernement et \u00e0 fournir des informations pour \u00ab d\u00e9fendre l’unit\u00e9 de notre pays \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Une tentative similaire a \u00e9t\u00e9 commise l’ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re en juin, mais nous l’avons surmont\u00e9e avec succ\u00e8s\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Abiy en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 une attaque \u00e0 la grenade lors d’un rassemblement auquel il a assist\u00e9 en 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samedi, l’ambassade des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 Addis-Abeba a lanc\u00e9 une alerte de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en d\u00e9clarant qu’elle \u00e9tait au courant des coups de feu tir\u00e9s dans la capitale, ainsi que des violences \u00e0 Bahir Dar et dans ses environs.<\/span><\/p>\n
