Il a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 enterr\u00e9 conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 ses souhaits.<\/p>\n<p><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"http:\/\/scd.rfi.fr\/sites\/filesrfi\/aefimagesnew\/imagecache\/rfi_16x9_1024_578\/sites\/images.rfi.fr\/files\/aefimagesnew\/aef_image\/000_1h48jb_0.jpg\"  alt=\"Angola : fun\u00e9railles de Jonas Savimbi, 17 ans apr\u00e8s sa mort\"  width=\"824\" height=\"465\" data-iml=\"1559621197969\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e comme un symbole de r\u00e9conciliation nationale apr\u00e8s des d\u00e9cennies de guerre.<\/p>\n<p>Savimbi, surnomm\u00e9 le \u00abcoq noir\u00bb, est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 en f\u00e9vrier 2002 lors d&rsquo;un affrontement avec l&rsquo;arm\u00e9e dans le centre de l&rsquo;Angola. Les soldats l\u2019y ont enterr\u00e9 et ses fun\u00e9railles publiques et sa r\u00e9inhumation ont eu lieu apr\u00e8s de longues n\u00e9gociations entre les autorit\u00e9s angolaises et l\u2019UNITA de Savimbi, d\u00e9sormais parti de l\u2019opposition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCe moment aurait d\u00fb se produire il y a 17 ans\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;AFP Raul Danda, vice-pr\u00e9sident de l&rsquo;UNITA. Un portrait du chef rebelle, charismatique mais qui divise, a \u00e9t\u00e9 plac\u00e9 devant le cercueil, orn\u00e9 du drapeau vert et rouge de l\u2019UNITA.<\/p>\n<p><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enca.com\/sites\/default\/files\/2019-06\/000_1h48h9.jpg\"  alt=\"Angola : fun\u00e9railles de Jonas Savimbi, 17 ans apr\u00e8s sa mort\"  width=\"699\" height=\"465\" data-iml=\"1559621224058\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNous sommes venus \u00e0 Lopitanga pour rendre hommage et confirmer que nous sommes ici pour continuer votre combat\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le chef de l&rsquo;UNITA, Isaias Samakuva.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNous nous prosternons devant le d\u00e9fenseur des causes nobles\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019Angola, une ancienne colonie portugaise, est devenue un champ de bataille de la Guerre froide apr\u00e8s l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance en 1975, lorsque le Mouvement populaire marxiste-l\u00e9niniste pour la lib\u00e9ration de l\u2019Angola (MPLA) en a pris le contr\u00f4le. Les \u00c9tats-Unis se sont rang\u00e9s derri\u00e8re les rebelles de l\u2019UNITA (Union nationale pour l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance totale de l\u2019Angola) de Savimbi et l\u2019ancienne Union sovi\u00e9tique et ses alli\u00e9s comme Cuba ont soutenu le MPLA.<\/p>\n<p><img  title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-s-www.ledauphine.com\/images\/CB407614-AF2D-47A5-96C6-3856838DBB2E\/LDL_v1_03_M\/photo-afp-rodger-bosch-1559427113.jpg\"  alt=\"Angola : fun\u00e9railles de Jonas Savimbi, 17 ans apr\u00e8s sa mort\"  width=\"632\" height=\"432\" data-iml=\"1559621264339\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Au moins un demi-million de personnes sont mortes dans le conflit au profit de ce vaste pays riche en p\u00e9trole de l&rsquo;Afrique australe, qui a jou\u00e9 pendant plus d&rsquo;un quart de si\u00e8cle. Au d\u00e9but de 2002, des soldats ont poursuivi Savimbi, \u00e2g\u00e9 de 67 ans, dans la province de Moxico, dans le centre-est de l&rsquo;Angola. Le 22 f\u00e9vrier, ils l&rsquo;ont rattrap\u00e9. Il a ripost\u00e9 mais a rapidement \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Son corps a \u00e9t\u00e9 transport\u00e9 \u00e0 la capitale de la province, Luena, et a \u00e9t\u00e9 enterr\u00e9 \u00e0 la h\u00e2te dans un cimeti\u00e8re, avec une croix de fer sur la motte de terre rouge. Les obs\u00e8ques publiques sont \u00abun signe important de r\u00e9conciliation nationale\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Rapha\u00ebl, l\u2019un des 30 enfants de Savimbi.
