\u00ab\u00a0Une dizaine d’autres passagers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sauv\u00e9s apr\u00e8s que leur v\u00e9hicule a \u00e9t\u00e9 rep\u00e9r\u00e9 par l’arm\u00e9e nig\u00e9rienne\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 un responsable de la ville d’Agadez, dans le nord du pays.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les migrants cherchaient l’itin\u00e9raire de l’un des deux puits quand leur v\u00e9hicule est tomb\u00e9e en panne. \u00ab Les trois personnes mortes \u00e9taient des Nig\u00e9riennes \u00bb, a confirm\u00e9 la source.<\/span><\/p>\n

La mort par la soif ou la chaleur est un danger majeur pour les migrants qui cherchent \u00e0 traverser le Sahara pour atteindre la Libye, qui se trouve au nord-est du Niger.<\/span><\/p>\n

Une fois en Libye, beaucoup tentent de traverser la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e pour se rendre en Europe du Sud, un voyage qui comporte des risques.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’arm\u00e9e et l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) affirme que leurs patrouilles dans le d\u00e9sert du Niger ont sauv\u00e9 des milliers de vies au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans certains cas, le bus ou le camion des voyageurs tombe en panne et dans d’autres, ils sont abandonn\u00e9s par leurs passeurs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Au pic de l’ann\u00e9e 2017, 150\u00a0000 personnes ont travers\u00e9 le pays, un chiffre qui a baiss\u00e9 selon la chanceli\u00e8re allemande Angela Merkel.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’un des facteurs \u00e0 l’origine de cette baisse est l’application d’une loi de 2015 qui pr\u00e9voit des peines de prison pouvant aller jusqu’\u00e0 30 ans pour les passeurs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cependant, les contrebandiers sont plus susceptibles de voyager la nuit et sur des routes nouvelles ou peu fr\u00e9quent\u00e9es, ce qui augmente le risque d’accident, selon les experts.<\/span><\/p>\n
