Alors que Robert Mugabe c\u00e9l\u00e8bre son 95<\/span>e<\/span><\/sup><\/span><\/span> anniversaire aujourd\u2019hui, de nombreux Zimbabw\u00e9ens regrettent le d\u00e9part de l\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Robert Mugabe a \u00e9t\u00e9 chass\u00e9 du pouvoir en novembre 2017 \u00e0 la suite d’une prise de pouvoir militaire. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9 par son ancien prot\u00e9g\u00e9, le pr\u00e9sident Emmerson Mnangagwa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s la d\u00e9mission de Mugabe, il y avait tellement de joie dans l\u2019air et plusieurs personnes sont descendues dans la rue pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mais depuis le d\u00e9part de Robert Mugabe, l\u2019\u00e9conomie du pays s\u2019\u00e9croule \u00e0 cause des p\u00e9nuries de liquidit\u00e9s et des prix du carburant qui ne cessent de grimper.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Mugabe nous manque. S’il s’en fichait, au moins il faisait semblant\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 l’AFP Anita Mugombedzi, une r\u00e9sidente de Harare. \u00ab\u00a0Si l’on en juge par ce que nous voyons aujourd\u2019hui, le Zimbabwe sera pire que sous Mugabe\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-elle ajout\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans les mois qui ont suivi l’arriv\u00e9e au pouvoir de Mnangagwa, il est devenu \u00e9vident que les services de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9taient pr\u00eats \u00e0 recourir \u00e0 la force pour r\u00e9primer la dissidence, tout comme ils le faisaient sous le r\u00e8gne de Mugabe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Six personnes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9es apr\u00e8s que des soldats eurent ouvert le feu dans le centre-ville de Harare \u00e0 la suite des \u00e9lections pr\u00e9sidentielles.<\/span><\/p>\n

En janvier, au moins 17 civils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s, selon des groupes communautaires, \u00e0 la suite d’une vague de r\u00e9pression d\u00e9clench\u00e9e sur des milliers de Zimbabw\u00e9ens descendus dans la rue pour protester contre l\u2019augmentation du prix du carburant.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Mugabe a fait des erreurs, mais il n’\u00e9tait pas aussi impitoyable que ceux qui l’ont remplac\u00e9. Nous pensions que les choses iraient mieux sous Mnangagwa, mais maintenant beaucoup de gens disent que Mugabe \u00e9tait mieux\u00a0\u00bb, affirme Edmond Jera, un comptable au ch\u00f4mage.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’anniversaire de Mugabe ne sera pas c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9 publiquement cette ann\u00e9e, et ce sera simplement une f\u00eate nationale comme les autres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Avant sa chute, ses anniversaires \u00e9taient c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9s pendant des jours et il recevait des g\u00e2teaux ainsi que de somptueux cadeaux, y compris du b\u00e9tail.<\/span><\/p>\n
