Des m\u00e9decins d\u2019un h\u00f4pital \u00e0 Addis-Abeba ont extrait plus d’une centaine de clous et d’autres objets tranchants de l’estomac d’un homme<\/p>\n

Dawit Teare, un chirurgien de l\u2019h\u00f4pital Saint-Pierre d\u2019Addis Abeba a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l\u2019homme en question, \u00e2g\u00e9 de 33 ans, souffre d’une maladie mentale et avait aval\u00e9 122 clous de 10 centim\u00e8tres de long, quatre \u00e9pingles, un cure-dent et des morceaux de verre bris\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Le patient souffre de maladie mentale depuis 10 ans et a cess\u00e9 de mettre des m\u00e9dicaments il y a deux ans. C\u2019est la raison pour laquelle il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 consommer ces objets\u00a0\u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Dawit Teare \u00e0 l’AFP apr\u00e8s l’op\u00e9ration qui a dur\u00e9 deux heures et demie.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0J\u2019imagine qu’il a aval\u00e9 ces objets \u00e0 l’aide d’eau, mais il a de la chance que ces objets n\u2019aient pas coup\u00e9 son estomac. Cela aurait pu entra\u00eener de graves infections et m\u00eame la mort\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il expliqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Le chirurgien a not\u00e9 que bien qu’il ait eu \u00e0 traiter d’autres cas dans lesquels des personnes atteintes de maladie mentale avaient aval\u00e9 de multiples objets tranchants, il n’avait jamais rencontr\u00e9 un cas de cette envergure.<\/p>\n

Le patient est d\u00e9sormais hors de danger et se porte bien.<\/p>\n
