Le centre comprends aussi les services de neurochirurgie et d\u2019ORL\/ chirurgie cervico-faciale.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les explications du ministre,\u00a0ces maladies sont parfois redoutables au double plan fonctionnel et vital, \u00e0 l\u2019image de celles que prend en charge l\u2019otorhinolaryngologie (ORL)\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<h5><b>Le nombre de sp\u00e9cialistes ORL encore faible<\/b><\/h5>\n<p>Lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d\u2019inauguration, il est ressorti que S\u00e9n\u00e9gal n\u2019est pas encore en phase avec les normes recommand\u00e9es par l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 concernant le nombre de sp\u00e9cialistes ORL. En effet, le pays en est \u00e0 un sp\u00e9cialiste ORL pour 330 000 habitants, au moment o\u00f9 l\u2019OMS conseille un sp\u00e9cialiste pour 25 000 habitants.<\/p>\n<p>Par contre, ce ratio place n\u00e9anmoins le pays \u00ab\u00a0dans le peloton de t\u00eate en Afrique Subsaharienne, pour cette sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Par ailleurs, la communaut\u00e9 s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise, \u00ab\u00a0qui compte 45 membres, a certainement fort \u00e0 faire pour endiguer la pathologie infectieuse, traumatique, malformative ou neurosensorielle, relevant de son domaine\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Fort de cela,\u00a0 le ministre est conscient que \u00ab\u00a0le gap est important et doit \u00eatre combl\u00e9 d\u2019une mani\u00e8re ou d\u2019une autre.
