Dans son discours prononc\u00e9 devant le S\u00e9nat et l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e nationale, il a annonc\u00e9 son intention d&rsquo;apporter plusieurs reformes dont la r\u00e9vision de la Constitution, notamment pour en\u00a0supprimer\u00a0une disposition r\u00e9servant la citoyennet\u00e9 aux\u00a0<em><strong>\u00ab\u00a0personnes de couleur\u00a0\u00bb <\/strong><\/em><strong><em>qu&rsquo;il <\/em><\/strong>a jug\u00e9\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0inutile, raciste et d\u00e9pass\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb<em><strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Il a aussi regrett\u00e9\u00a0que des \u00e9trangers ne puissent pas\u00a0d\u00e9tenir\u00a0une autre nationalit\u00e9, estimant que beaucoup de Lib\u00e9riens chass\u00e9s par la guerre civile (1989-2003) \u00e9taient devenus citoyens de leur pays d\u2019accueil. En outre, George Weah a \u00e9galement d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 l\u2019interdiction faite aux \u00e9trangers de\u00a0poss\u00e9der\u00a0des biens fonciers, dissuasive selon lui pour les investisseurs. M.\u00a0Weah a par ailleurs r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 sa volont\u00e9 de\u00a0faire\u00a0de l\u2019\u00e9ducation une\u00a0<em>\u00ab\u00a0priorit\u00e9 constante et essentielle\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>\u00a0de son gouvernement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"taille_courante\"><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Le successeur d&rsquo; Ellen Johnson Sirleaf a aussi fait la promesse de\u00a0r\u00e9duire\u00a0son salaire de 25\u00a0%.\u00a0<strong><em>\u00ab\u00a0Je\u00a0vous\u00a0annonce aujourd\u2019hui, avec effet imm\u00e9diat, que je vais r\u00e9duire mon salaire et mes primes de 25\u00a0%\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong>, a ajout\u00e9 l&rsquo;ex-footballeur, appelant les parlementaires \u00e0\u00a0suivre\u00a0cet exemple, face aux difficult\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques que traverse le pays.<\/p>\n<p>Le d\u00e9sormais pr\u00e9sident lib\u00e9rien a salu\u00e9 la pr\u00e9sence \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d\u2019Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, signe selon lui que les blessures de la guerre civile se sont referm\u00e9es.\u00a0<em><strong>\u00ab\u00a0Bienvenue Madame Sirleaf, votre pr\u00e9sence ici aujourd\u2019hui montre quel chemin nous avons parcouru en tant que peuple\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, <\/em>a-t-il dit en s\u2019adressant \u00e0 sa pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseure.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s douze ann\u00e9es de\u00a0pouvoir\u00a0d\u2019Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, premi\u00e8re femme \u00e9lue chef d\u2019un Etat africain, en\u00a02005, le nouveau gouvernement ne comprend presque que des hommes.
